Why do you down vote a question. If you disagree with a poll someone is taking.

I put voting poles in my threads a lot to get a feel for how people think about topics. I understand why you are voting against a proposition, but why are denying others after you the opportunity to vote? You don't need to down vote the topic. YOU ARE ALREADY VOTING.
