So in my ranked games I have encountered many different kinds of players
People who think that just the support should ward
People who think objectives aren't a big deal
People who play the game for kills only
People who play champions for the first time in a role they don't know
People who play support and don't actively ward or counterward
People who shove lane without warding
People who are extremely aggressive under enemy tower...at level 1
People who don't realize that blitzcrank has an ability that changes your location on the map.
People who think it's ok to have 179 ad on
at 37 minutes into the game
People who don't understand the abilities of opponent's champions.
People who are unsure about how to cs
People who don't realize that aggro'ing an enemy champ draws aggro from minions
People who think they can 1v4 as riven because they saw a pro do it
People who intentionally feed because another team member gave first blood
People who pick new champions in ranked on the day they were released
People who don't get that targon charges shares gold, and will actively try to stop you from using said charges.
People who try to take on a full hp leblanc with only 100 hp.
People who don't understand that glass cannon builds on champs that don't have effective engage or range don't work well against poke comps.
People who smite baron at 2,000 hp
People who wonder why you don't follow into really bad fights after you just saved them from a bad situation.
People who allow themselves to eat damage like I eat cupcakes (I love cupcakes).
People who blame someone else for their own poor decision.
All of these situations I have encountered in my current elo, which is plat. Plat 5 and above make up 10.05 percent of the player base. This information tells me that at least 90 percent of players don't understand why the above situations are bad, or that when they are the people responsible for said situations, they will likely make up an excuse for it (because that has happened too). Before you go into ranked, take time to understand why the pros are pro, why diamond players succeed as well as they do in ranking, what strategies work, what metas work, etc. Take time to learn to farm, look up where effective warding locations are, watch streams, look at champion spotlights, look at their kits, look at changes, look at items, look at builds.
Ranked mode is not for learning, but for performing. Normals are for learning. Practical application practice. If you need help with finding materials to educate yourself, the forums are a good place. Going into ranked without being prepared is like shooting yourself in the foot and wondering why it hurts.
tl;dr ranked is not the place to learn or test things.
