Tf is for mage matchups while zil works best in assassin matchups.
Tf has good wave clear early while zileans might take a little work to get right Zil is probably harder, because you onlt have one damage spell, and you have to play teamfights like a mage and a support
If you want easy single target cc pick Tf, but harder to land but more versatile aoe cc pick zilean.
If your really good at managing resources and comboing pick zilean if not then tf
If you like zilean pick zilean if you like tf then pick tf.
(Btw I have mast 6 zilean (3rd most played champ) and also Mast 7 Tf(2nd most played champ))
