A TL;DR Patchnotes?
After reading through this thread on the LoL Boards: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/OpBAPYjZ-ppl-dont-read-patch-notes-very-dangerous I started thinking of a possible way to make more people aware of stuff that changes as a result from patches, whether it be the UI, champion mechanics, etc.
My suggestion? A TL;DR Patchnotes tailored specifically for everyone. Here's what I mean.
After a patch is released to the live servers, the game would take a look at your profile; the role(s) you play the most, the champions you use often, etc. and tell you any patch changes regarding your role(s)/champions etc. in a simple and straight-forward manner.
Let's say you play a lot of Garen. In the case of Patch 5.16, the game would tell you after patching and logging in:
"Hey there, your champion was reworked. Here's what's changed: insert changed stats, mechanics, abilities, etc.
Have fun in the Rift!"
Now let's say you midlane a lot with various champions. (I'll use Ahri, Viktor, and Azir for this example) In the case of Patch 5.16, the game would tell you after patching and logging in:
"Hey there, some of your champions have been changed. Here's the new stuff:
Ahri: Passive was nerfed.
Azir: insert fixed bugs here
Viktor: Flat AP/Mana on Hex Cores removed, replaced with new AP/Mana that scales with your level. Less AP/Mana from Hex Cores in early-mid game, but more in late game.
Have fun in the Rift!"
Of course, the game would also tell everyone the basic need-to-know stuff, like:
-Upcoming skins -Any changes to the UI -Any items that have been changed
However, the game would ask you if you wish to know more. Example:
"Hey there, the UI has recently changed. Would you like to know more?
[Yes] [No]"
or
"Hey there, some tank build items have been recently changed. Would you like to know more?
[Yes] [No]"
TL;DR Rito should implement a method that quickly tells players any changes to the game that is relevant to them based on what they play in a simple, streamlined fashion.
I apologize for the wall of text.
