@RIOT: Rotating queue is an AWESOME idea, love it already, but one question...

why only on weekends? I mean, wouldnt it make way more sense to say you put a mode in for a week and then change every week? Especialy in ways of balancing, that would make your job so much easier, since you could analyze one week of gameplay, the switch to another mode, and use the data collected to make mode specific changes to balance problem champions.

Dont get me wrong, even if its just on the weekends, I am super happy and hyped, but I just feel like it could be done alot more... efficient :)

Anyway, thank you very much for this upcoming weekend fun

Hey Raoul!

Good questions :)

There's a few reasons we have chosen this kind of time frame. Typically the lifetime of the featured game modes (aka the actual activity in the queue) did not really match with the amount of time we were previously putting them on. So the idea is that we're going to more properly line up with the peaks and troughs of the game modes with this schedule.

We chose weekends specifically to make it more accessible to most players. We will be analyzing the data from these runs to inform future runs of the modes!

Also as a note, we're not tied down by the schedule we announced. We're going to be monitoring the queue and activity and making sure that this schedule is appropriate, and if it's not, we'll adjust!

I sense it might be so we don't get bored of them :P And also so we don't use our weekday time (that should be spent working or studying) playing these awesome modes!

If these game modes are going to be limited to weekends only (Fri-Mon) then it seems like we're not really going to be seeing as much of them individually as we have in previous years.

Two appearances of URF in one year over two weekends assuming that a 'weekend' means Fri-Mon translates to 8 days of URF per year in total. In the last year we had 14 days of URF alone which is a lot more than what appears to be slated for 2016.
