Clumsy me

There are times where i am sure i changed my runes and masteries in champ select (Highlighted in light blue and clicked so the iptions slide back down.) However there are times where i trust that they changed like they are supposed to, but for some reason they stayed on the Previous runes and didnt switch to the selected ones. is this me being clumsy? (which i believe it is) or is this an in game issue?
