New preliminary rank system?
Just a curious thought.
What if you were placed based on how many games it took you to get 10 ranked game victories. For example, for 10 victories, it took a total amount of 14 games (10 wins, 4 loses), or for some folks, 20+, for some folks, 10/10. The ELO would adjust accordingly to the ratio between games won and games played.
For those that already know, CS:GO adopts this method of placing and I can see both why it's good and bad.
It would most certainly reduce the amount of players in the ranking system - some would get in on their first 10 games, some would be on their 13th game, with only 7 victories. It's not a flat amount of 10 games, and then you're in. This would certainly reduce the hundreds and thousands of folks getting plopped into Bronze/Silver and even Gold.
At the same time, considering the enormous player base for LoL, I can see how this limitation would be terrible. The hundreds of thousands of people in Bronze/Silver (who know they are on their 14th game with only 5 victories) would be hesitant to even care about finishing up their preliminaries and continuing their ranked careers. This would drive a HUGE player base away from ranked games (and consequently flood normals).
Your thoughts? Ideas?
Again, just a curious thought I had :)
