Teammates perform worse if you harass them after a mistake.

You know why harassment isn't helpful? Because telling your teammate they suck or they're bad is not going to help them, it is NOT criticism it IS bashing. Criticism would be something like "Hey, next time you split push wait for us to be in a position to take an objective."

I know if I get caught I immediately think "(random swear) I should not have done that, and I should pay more attention next time." Basically, if you are going to type something to a teammate put yourselves in their shoes first and ask yourself if what you are typing is going to be helpful or not. If you are just venting then keep it to yourself also if you are getting frustrated then you should probably take a break because it's easy to tilt if you're frustrated.

Wait a second you know what you're doing wrong, and you know that you continuously make this mistake and you're frustrated that your teammates are agitated for something that at this point can't even be considered a mistake.

Now this is interesting as well but please keep in mind the difference between criticism and harassment. If you can't offer a solution to their mistake or point out their mistake in a non-condescending way then just keep it to yourself. I know this will probably make people upset at me but just remember I'm not saying you shouldn't point it out but if you DO have the urge to point it out then please keep it polite or offer a solution.

Teammates who intentionally troll, afk, and intentionally feed make all games worse. Just a friendly reminder.

Most also don't know what "harass" is. Saying "can you get a ward?" after a gank is apparently harassment and verbal abuse. Asking someone to ping before they gank next time so you can get ready is evidently harassing them enough to get muted and threats of no more ganks. Unless you're really going to define what you mean, your reminder isn't so "friendly" as pointless.

My friends pointing out my flaws always helped me much more than my friends who yelled at me after a mistake. For example, my biggest flaw was that I had little to none map awareness. I wasn't using Pings, nor was I paying attention to them from my teammates. My friends were much more experienced so they were mad at me for getting caught, chasing too much or going for an objective while I should back away.

But some were nice enough to tell me nicely to check my map more often, to use ping and to wait for back up for objectives. Thanks to them, I am now a much more experienced player who take better decisions. I'm even the one making the calls sometimes, because I know I improved a lot and my judgment is good (not perfect, but good enough most of the time).

TL;DR: Be patient with the ones making mistakes. Pointing out their flaws nicely will make them better players after a little while. Bashing them will just make them become trolls or worse, Teemo users.

I usually will ignore a teamates mistakes except if they do it continually (such as walk into the river when you know their jungler has been camping you) or when they do something completely illogical (trying to win a 1 vs 5 even though most of the enemies have the same amount of items as you)

I will then tell them what they did and only get angry if they continue doing it. Feedback is necessary for improvement you know, a person will never do better if they are only told positive things and not their mistakes

Edit: I am not another of the complainers, when I give advice, I make it actual advice not a bash. If they are losing lane I tell them strategies I have used against that champion and not just that they suck. If they are losing lane to their counter I will tell them just to hug tower more and not extend if their jungler is gank heavy.

It just sounds like you have seen so much negativity in game that you don't realize that some people are actually not toxic

More like: "When you type, you can't play"

sp4419/30/2014, 4:38:20 PM2 votes

Right. If you call the teammate who is doing badly "trash" or "you suck go kill yourself". They're not going to reflect on their mistakes. You're just going to either piss them off so much that they completely forget to do their job, or become too fixated on kills, or you're going to depress them so much that they will completely lose focus of the task at hand, either way, he'll be playing worse and feeling incredibly shitty to booth. If making him feel shitty was your objective, congratulations, just never play with me, ever. And god help you if you play against me, I will pick Teemo against you and constantly spam ctrl + 4, and mock you for every mistake.

Always gotta have that bad game, then a teammate comes and makes it worse. Am I the only one who is momentum based when it comes to winning a game? (If I win, I play better, if I lose I play worse)

"Mistakes" lose you 90% of your games. Just a friendly reminder. :) Also, going 1-12 is not a mistake. Most likely the result of MANY mistakes over and over. In which case, people usually tend to be, and have the right to be, very very angry with you. Not only do mistakes RUIN the experience of my game, the end up costing me LP for something i had no control over. Do you understand why you get yelled at yet? There are no room for mistakes in a game swung so easily by them. Period.

Teammates preform equally as badly if they're never taught the RIGHT WAY to do it in the first place.

Just a friendly fact.

Very Ratchet10/1/2014, 5:44:30 AM1 votes

People get mad regardless because most take constructive criticism as flaming.

Deathless81C10/1/2014, 8:52:30 AM1 votes

I've never seen a game with more crybaby, non team oriented assholes. By far. Counterstrike in it's heyday people at least knew how to play. Maybe it's just NA but never seen such a slew of self entitled douchebags who play terribly, are assholes about it. Then bitch when they get called out on it by teammates. As much as I like TSM I spitefully hope NA never wins a damn thing at a Worlds event until NA learns how to grow up.

Wullf10/1/2014, 10:19:14 AM1 votes

I dissagree If you tell your stupid teammates that they suck and that they are thrash they will realise their mistakes and will do better.

Calabok10/1/2014, 8:49:02 PM1 votes

Don't tell people what to do. Just report them in the end for their poor performance and or absence.
