@Riot My Problem With Riot Developers & Their Stance on Karma and Other Failed Reworks

For the past few years, I have been creating threads in regards to Karma to try and create a movement and get these Developers to do something. I have been patient, I have been kind, my expectations slowly dwindling over the years, and my passion and love for a champion I really enjoyed playing almost 4 years ago . . . is no longer appreciated for the new player experience.

On 03/27/2013 Riot Games decided to give Karma a VGU. We expected some wonderful things with this VGU and what we got was a complete nightmare. Everything that we adored on Karma was removed. She lost her fans, dress, shield bomb, her existence as a mage, duality, theme, and a lot more than new Karma players think. Her visual update was poorly executed and never finished. For the past few years the only communication Riot games have are reasons as to why it was a failure and a 1350RP skin that couldn't even be bothered to have the tattoos on her model, that are clearly present in the splash art. The level of expectations real Karma players and fans have towards her is not being reciprocated by a Development team that cannot be bothered to work on a skin and use the holidays as an excuse, but turn around it do it for a said champion more than once a week later.

To get back on track and actually talk about the bulk of the problem, a Developer responded to one of my threads about Karma and asking for more communication and constructive work on her. It was followed by a reason that is very uncaring and insulting to one of the many Karma players that have taken their passion, heart, creativity, and once fondness for Karma . . . . . and said she is in a good spot right now. When a Developer explicitly says Karma, right now, is in a good spot . . . . it really boggles my mind. Any baboon can sit in front of a computer screen and hit two numbers on a keyboard . . . . . . and make a champion balanced. Developers, you have the power to make any champion as balanced numbers wise like you did with Karma. You create the meta. You create the items that benefit a champion. You create the reworks that fail on champions and ignore it for years, but still say they are in a great spot right now. You create the environment in which these champions exist in this game. When you break down a champion so much and strip them of everything that made the champion and what was appreciated on it, we have a new champion. We do not have previous Karma and her identity as a battlemage. What we have on Karma right now is a shield bot that buys items to increase the strength of her shields . . . and an ability that she spams all game. The current failed rework on Karma doesn't fit her theme, isn't the same way she used to play, and did not improve as much as you think . . . at the expense of what she used to do good before. The said thing is you have almost 4 years to work on anything for Karma that addresses the problems you created . . . and you decide to work on her splash art that is most likely going to be changed when you get to a VGU for her in 5 years.

Since when has a poorly executed kit and keyboard inputting numbers buff represent a champion "being in a good spot right now"? It doesn't. If a champion is not being properly represented in their visual update and theme, a unique kit that offers something different to the game, and a gameplay that clearly defines what the champion is supposed to be doing . . . . . . then that is not a champion who is in a good spot right now. The numbers you give the poorly executed kit might be in a good spot, but the champion itself is still not being addressed and no one has any right to say that champion is in a good spot. If in almost 4 years you cannot be bothered to work on Karma's real problems . . . . and think a numbers buff on a poorly executed rework and a splash art update is proof that a champion is "in a good spot right now', then you are not the type of Developers I thought you were.

I originally joined this game for the fantastic storytelling, art, gameplay and the champions. It is being muddled by all of this competitive play and lazy work ethic that think Karma's current kit and theme is "in a good spot right now". It wasn't almost 4 years ago and it isn't today. Some of my favorite champions, just not Karma, were completely ruined in the same sense and are being ignored just like her. I do not know if it is this new generation of Developers and their lackluster passion for Karma, Morde, Shen, and Vlad . . . but I already know the outcome of Karma's eventful VGU in 5 years.

Karma will retain almost all of her new kit. Her entire lore will be reworked into her being this shield spamming monk that sits in the back and protects others. Her current lore of being leader and whatever else will be completely removed for her current gameplay as a boring, shield button mashing, support champion. This is how Riot Game Developers want Karma to be. This is what Riot Game Developers want Karma to be since all of the work done to her VGU, numbers buff, removal of shield bomb, and gameplay shifting from a mage to a shield spamming enchanter. I need to buy these items that increase the effectiveness of my shields to be relevant in the game. That is the new Karma. The old Karma and everything on her old kit will never be coming back because Riot will use the time length as an excuse to not actually bring it back. I already know the excuse that new players enjoy her current kit too much, that they cannot bring old Karma back. It's clearly evident.

Riot Game Developers, you don't care. You don't care to rectify the mistakes you make on champions in a reasonable amount of time. There will always be something else that takes presedence over another thing, but that is no excuse to do absaloutely no constructive work that addresses the problems temporarily. You refuse to communicate about the problems with the community. Lastly, you think a numbers buff to a kit that was not successful is a good representation of a champion that is "in a good spot right now." Your passion, heart, creativity, artistry, common sense and communication for Karma was gone almost 4 years ago and we do not expect it to ever come back.

No more money and respect from me, Riot Games. As artists and passionate gamers, you have lost all respect from me . . . because the competitive scene and numbers buff is a clear indication of a champion being successfully represented in this game . . . in your eyes at least.
