How do I get this off my mind? (bad game vent)

I was playing a norms and practicing with nidalee tonight and invaded this skarner early. He hadn't started his red yet and I was chipping away at him with spears and pounces, and I almost had him, when he ran under tower. I pounced him while he had a mark, but before I could finish him he flashed away. There was extended turret agro, enough to give the last shot on me even after I flashed out, and it gave them first blood.

So, skarner thought it would be justified to talk crap, thanking me for the early lead, saying "wp" in early game, saying I lost us the game in mid even though our yasuo was 0/9, and at the post game screen he had the audacity to say that he outplayed me, and that he 1v1'd me. I couldn't say anything justified and return and it's just eating me up. It's bullcrap, and I just have a difficult time dealing with people like this. I don't know how to put up with it.

This community is aggressive, and I'm starting to feel I need to be an ashole and talk sht before they get the chance to just so I have the leverage in the crap talking. Yeah I can mute people, but it doesn't always happen. Like in this situation, this guy spaced out his comments far enough for me to think it wasn't going to be a big deal, but he managed to get under my skin. It's not the first tim this happened either, and it's just frustrating. How do I deal with this without walling myself off? I don't know what to do anymore.

You can mute a single person. If they are on the enemy team especially then muting them really has no impact on your game.

To me, putting an enemy on tilt in this way is one of the easiest ways to win a game, not only does it shake the enemy, as you can attest, you give the enemy team a lightning rod to inflict further abuse towards.

If this kind of thing really bothers you I highly recommend you turn off all chat in settings, there's really nothing productive your enemies are going to say to you. And by and large, that's where a lot of team on team abuse comes from too. for instance if a top laner is getting destroyed , he might say "/all: I wish we had a jungler" so that the other team know it's not his fault.

On the other hand, if you want to be the verbal aggressor, I recommend apologizing to the enemy team for one of their payers, as though he is intentionally feeding, when he's actually trying but failing. Something like, "/all GG guys, sorry about Skarner," pretty good way to put someone on blast, because again, you know he's going to suffer even more abuse by his own team mates. Soon after, he'll be spamming /surrender.
