Help With OBS

I stream with obs and i like it alot. A problem is and i dont know how to fix it is where i need to alt tab in game for something and my game crashes, it only happens when im streaming. I dont play in windowed mode, i dont know if that would help but my problem with windowed mode is i can move my mouse downwards. Anyone know how i could fix these 2 problems?
