Who was your first main champion?

Recently LCS did a segment where they questioned the pro players on their first main champion. There were some pretty funny responses (Bjergsen mained Irelia because of the ability to dash to minions and he thought it was cool). So I want to extend this question to the general public. Who was your first main and why?

Btw mine was Ashe, because I used to max W and kill lots of minions.

Edit: Please explain what you liked about that champion

Edit 2: Answering the question without liking is a sin! A LeeSin

Veigar

Kind of sad people call me a troll for picking him now.

Edit:

I enjoyed Veigar because of his character and playstyle; he is the traditional mage with limited utility and amazing power in the right circumstance. Veigar is this twisted monstrosity that comes in a very small package with an ego that exceeds his stature by far. Yet, despite how annoying and pathetic he can be, it is easy to feel sympathy for him, an innocent caught in a whirlwind of misfortune who suffered for an indeterminate number of years in a prison far from home and hope.

He emerged broken, yet more powerful than ever before. Perhaps history will repeat itself? I dearly hope so.

Also, when I got fed as Veigar, I felt nigh unstoppable if I could keep enemies at a safe distance; when I said someone died, they fucking died.

Annie coz she said: "It'll be fun!", and than she introduced me to Tibbers!

O! I just noticed her code is {champion:1}

The first champion I bought was Sona Sona. She was simple, had an interesting background and personality, and promised room for mastery despite her relatively simple kit. She also had lots of utility, which I thought was fun, as I tend to play medic-like roles in other multi-player games. Around the time I reached level 8, I discovered my first dedicated main, Urgot Urgot, who I played almost exclusively until team builder debuted and cemented my role as a support main. I loved how outrageous Urgot was. His whole theme and personality was one grotesque joke after another, and his kit was quite satisfying to play. I loved ulting people under my turrets and suddenly gaining 100 armor and MR to duel melees without bothering to kite, and I really loved murdering fed ADCs with no fear for my own safety. I mostly play support nowadays with Taric, Leona, Zyra, and my original, now re-worked (RIP) supports, Sona and Soraka, but Urgot remains my top-laner of choice and holds a special place in my heart.

Malphite Run around the Rift role playing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and be basically immortal. One of my fondest memory was tanking a turret without minion and an enemy Mundo firing at me, I kept calm and killed the turret, all the while blasting in all chat "You throw that cleaver again the rock is gonna take it, turn it sideway and stick it straight up your candy ass". And then I just walk away, not even bothering to fight the Mundo Oh good time

Poppy is the reason I first installed League. When a friend was showing some of the champs to me I saw her and shouted "Smurfette Thor!" She was the first champ I bought, and I still love her.

MarhsallLee673/7/2015, 9:08:51 PM6 votes

I played nothing but Nocturne until level 26.

redniwediS3/7/2015, 6:47:02 PM6 votes

My first main was Garen. I had played Guild Wars for years by the time I started League in season 1, and I played a warrior tank. When I ended up playing the tutorial for League and they had me play a melee fighter with defensive stat boosts and bonus regeneration I was hooked. Besides a bit of Fratmogs Riven in season 2 Garen has been my main ever since.

My first main was Jax , because NOBODY on Twisted Treeline wanted a piece of the champ.

Honestly, he was just the first champion I learned to win with. Before that, it was a complete poopstorm of n00b mistakes.

Nasus

yea... I was one of those guys...

Big Spicy3/7/2015, 7:00:47 PM5 votes

I mained Sona first because I always went duo bot with my brother and whenever I played Sona we won Sona

Thefriendlyorc3/7/2015, 7:36:06 PM5 votes

Singed, I'm a huge fan of alchemists in fantasy type settings and his play style matched up with his lore meshed well. I loved the ability to walk over minions and clear entire waves, in addition to punishing those that pursued me through trolling.

Captain Aishi3/7/2015, 7:43:04 PM5 votes

anivia, because her W reminded me of sentry forcefields in starcraft2, and her ult was like a giant slowing psi storm!

took me about from level 2 to level 19 before i discovered that i could manually detonate her Q to get the stun before reaching max range... reading tooltips is hard :(

sealust3/7/2015, 8:57:58 PM5 votes

Soraka When I started league I was in a huge healer phase and the people who i started by playing with wanted a support, it jut kind of fit together.

OnanThaMan3/7/2015, 8:40:53 PM4 votes

Diana Took her mid lane and proceeded to crap on most champs, back before i hit 30. Still holds a special place to me whenever i play Lol now, along with Quinn

Terff3/7/2015, 6:48:07 PM4 votes

First was draven

disregardable3/7/2015, 6:41:31 PM3 votes

My first main was Sivir, back when her ultimate was good. I mained her from levels ~16-23. I liked how well she split pushed (even if I wouldn't have known to say so), and I liked that she could waveclear well on the defensive. Being able to save your team from a bad play was also really helpful in those levels.

Nagirah3/7/2015, 7:18:16 PM3 votes

My first main was Lux and it's been her ever since. I just fell in love with trying to snipe things with your max range spells.

Cis7v03/7/2015, 7:21:01 PM3 votes

zyra. i thought the idea of summoning plants to fight for you was fucking awesome. i finally was able to play her in free week and loved it. saved up IP and got her (the grind seemed like it took forever).

then after a month or 2 she was brought down as a support and called OP then nerfed. i miss her, but shes near unplayable mid, and i hate support zyra.

Pørourf3/8/2015, 12:12:53 AM3 votes

Chogath because when I played bots I thought he was op so I bought him. I never put a level in w because it had no range and I thought range meant everything.

Silven3/8/2015, 1:40:21 AM3 votes

Brand! Brand Forever and always my main, and I think I'm really good at him.

Personally, I loved the amount of potential his kit had, especially with his passive. Which effect do I want from my abilities? And which one am I willing to discard to get to my goal? If I engage with Q, I have no stun, but potentially more damage on my W... Stuff like that, I fell in love.

I'm trying to get to Platinum with him whenever I get mid. Here's hoping!

And in my opinion he definitely needs a new skin. He deserves it. After all this time...

Feathermane3/8/2015, 10:56:09 AM3 votes

Nunu Oh, how the bots trembled before the Absolute Zero.

Bots also made me want to buy Leona because I couldn't figure out what she was doing. She didn't do damage like other bots, just kind of dropped an egg yolk on your head.

Xengre3/9/2015, 12:43:37 AM3 votes

Evelyn! I liked her stealth and high damage. I quickly found she was extremely overpowered in beta tho no one believed or caught on until she became known as THE jungler in later seasons. I would take smite and duo bot back in beta with a friend and grab Blue buff at level 4 and start roaming (hence when Eve became feared). After getting some Mejai's stacks and particularly when I got Lich I could freely dive or win 1v3-4 skirmishes and survive or flee due to the insane MS steroid on her ult and her ult's powerful heal. Her stun + suprise combo and one of the craziest dps in League history was fun, particurlarly when you consistently go 40-80 kills (no exaggeration, she was that broken but this didn't catch on for a long time) a match against other players but the novelty did wear off eventually and I got bored. Swapped to ADC Teemo/Sivir mid where I got a mild 20-40 kills per game. League was such a different game back then. I had just come from Darkness and Light SEA as it went under (due to legal costs) as one of the best players which had hyper carries so I think this is partially why I liked Eve. Also, very mobile.

Warwick

It's a concept I was familiar with, and he had a simple kit. but now i've graduated to a completely different character with a much higher skill cap

Udyr XD Now i feel like I've gone nowhere. Except I'm climbing that ladder as if gravity was turned upside down...

Ahri

When I registered to LoL, Talon or Riven was the newest champion I can't remember well, but after a few matches, the game didn't quite sucked me in. Then few months later, Riot announced their new champion, Ahri. I was a huge Naruto fan back then, and seeing a nine-tailed fox who was also a hot asian girl made me fall in love with the character instantly. My love just grew when I found out how fun her kit will be.

So I bought her instantly after her release, and started to play with her. And after that happened something, that rather defined my future life from that point. I found Ahri's dance reference video, and thus I found Girls' Generation. A young, talented, and beautiful KPOP group who almost instantly stole my heart, and kept it for a very long time. The next few years I listened to SNSD song every day, watched TV shows where they appeared (especially Kim Taeyeon), and I had been sucked into the korean media culture very much. Since then I found other interests and hobbies, but these past years were pretty much me being a hardcore South-Korea, and especially SNSD fan! :D

Now back to Ahri. I mained her in whole season 2, played like 200 games with her, but after I learned that the 50-60% of the players play mid as a main role, and almost always there is at least 1 but more times 2 or even 3 people who wants mid lane in a game, I switched my main role, and therefore switched my main champions too. Nowadays, unfortunatelly, I rarely play Ahri anymore, but I actually I am planning to try to switch back to mid lane as well as playing my other roles too, and therefore I will play Ahri more often from now on (also I have every skin of her so it would be a shame if I never use them! :P)!

Thank you if read my whole story, and I understand if you didn't read it, but it was relieving and enjoyable to finally write it down somewhere! :)

tl dr: Ahri is love, Ahri is LIFE! :D

Leblanc

LeBlanc because I used to (and still do) love magic-type of illusions and confusing the enemy. LeBlanc's W and R and passive were a perfect fit.

Green Guy Geno3/8/2015, 6:18:09 AM2 votes

Vi Top. Nothing like smacking Teemo in the face with giant metal hands.

Sirsir3/10/2015, 2:09:40 PM2 votes

ummmm, I think the first champ I ever got serious about maining was Elise. She was relatively simple to play, had a lot going for her. I LOVED playing her in lane. Then they gutted her damage because her clear was too safe :( Now I can't play her in lane at all...

Aria Valkyrie3/8/2015, 12:06:04 PM2 votes

I mained Caitlyn for a while there. I kinda stopped because i'm trying to figure out who i like. . . i legit can't tell. But Cait was just so fun to play. To be honest, i think my favorite part is seeing the plays people make to save their teammates from taking an ult to the face. (shoutout to the braum that jump-flashed to save the vayne that flash-tumbled. fantastic way to take that ult out) Beyond that, her playstyle is just so fun. pop some traps to bushcheck, work on your skillshots and predictions with q, get outta dodge with a net dodge (hehe) She's a fun champ to play, even though she's not exactly what i pick every match now.

Linna Excel3/7/2015, 6:56:43 PM1 votes

I kind of started maining two around the same time. Don't want to talk about it because riot gutted one of them.
