Is it reportable to say "GG Ez" after winning a game?

It's so irritating and annoying when I hear this, especially after a bad game. I know it's based off of just 1 line, but some that spout that line don't talk for the entire game either.

I always report "gg ez" (both allies and enemies) under the category of "negative attitude." It is just plan poor sportsmanship.

yes

Yes. Especially when it's that one guy who goes 0/6/1 in top lane and gets his ass carried. Please do us a favor and report people like him so we don't have to deal with deadweight players on our team in future games.

Yes. I don't care if it the only thing they said all game, they shouldn't say it period.

Riot stated its offensive to say GG ez and its reportable as verbal abuse. followed by a chat ban

Kikirino8/12/2015, 9:29:29 PM14 votes

Riot says they punish it so I believe so.

Adanim8/13/2015, 2:59:33 AM13 votes

What Riot has wanted for so long is to have a community within the game that is sportsmanlike and respectful, while also being a competitive environment. Point number 6 in the Summoner's Code states:

"Show Humility in Victory, and Grace in Defeat

Having a great game is one of the biggest joys that League of Legends can bring you. But always bear in mind that when you're relishing that landslide victory there is someone on the receiving end that is probably ripping their hair out. While it's alright to celebrate, make sure that you keep any gloating (or any other mode of self-indulgence) out of all chat. Instead, thank your opponents for the game. After all, despite their best efforts, they just made you a very happy person."

Saying "gg ez" at the end of the game goes against EVERYTHING that this part of the Code stands for. Smack-talk is okay, playful insults back and forth with allies or enemies is okay (only if they say it is, however), Gloating at the end of the game is not. I actually question the mental and psychological stability of people who act this way, because no mentally healthy person would attack others for the sake of building up their ego. Sportsmanship is a part of the competitive experience. No one wants to be a part of a community full of assholes. In football, if someone does a dance in the end-zone, it could be considered a foul. Granted, a little jive of celebration isn't bad, but a fully rehearsed dance routine is gloating. Some players have been fined because of it.

You can say "People who take things too personally shouldn't be playing online games", but have you ever thought about it the other way around? Some people who are depressed use this game as an escape, to play with friends around the country who accept them, and here are some idiots and insensitive little brats who think that they should rub every victory in the face of the losers. I can't remember who said it, but someone once said "The true measure of someone's character is seeing how they behave and act towards those who can do nothing for them" or something along those lines. Anyone who gloats or insults others on an online game or over the internet with no threat of retaliation is a coward, there is no justification for it. At all.

And before people say "Freedom of speech", that does NOT pertain to this at all. Anyone who uses that argument to justify being an asshole has no understanding of what it means.

Unfortunately yes, in this fragile, sensitive, overly offended for no reason, community typing two letters can actually be offensive enough to get you banned.

Or you could, like a normal, healthy person, could simply understand that smack talk in competition is pretty common, and saying "ez" is about as mild as it gets. But i know im the minority here, especially in the modern USA, where everything offends somebody.

Edit: You're all missing the point, whether intentionally or not, i cannot tell. I have never said "gg ez" because beating a stranger is no reason to gloat. If i tackle Marshawn Lynch, i gloat, because that would be amazing, but this is a video game and i could have just beaten a team of paraplegic 7 year olds.

The point is that i couldn't give two tiny little pieces of rat crap when i lose and someone says "ez". Especially when i got destroyed. If i got destroyed and at the end of game the enemy lets me know that, thats fine. Why? Because i'm not a mentally unbalanced crybaby on the precipice of a mental breakdown. Who honestly gives a shit about two letters typed at the end of a game? Friggin deal with it you generation of weak willed pansies.

Malicious Fury8/12/2015, 10:52:20 PM7 votes

Reportable: yes. Banned just on that: no.

Catastrop8/12/2015, 9:35:41 PM5 votes

Yes.

Adanim8/13/2015, 3:15:41 AM4 votes

@ Big Bang Bob It doesn't matter if you like/don't like it. Riot has stated in the rules of League of Legends that gloating at the end of a game is punishable and against the rules. No matter how you look at the situation, no matter where you stand, it's the rule that has been placed, and it shouldn't be followed as such for the sake of other people. Get over yourselves and be decent human beings and respect other people.

Hatless Casual8/13/2015, 4:11:53 AM4 votes

I do, I even add the quote of "GGEZ" on the ticket when I do it.

IonChamber8/12/2015, 10:55:15 PM4 votes

this is only ok if Ezreal is on the other team and he played well.

Zense8/13/2015, 1:08:08 AM4 votes

Yes, especially when it's one of those games that's just bad overall and you just want to get it over with. I don't want to the the enemy after the game rub it in our faces and say "gg ez" it's just not even funny at that point.

Squidblimp8/13/2015, 1:39:26 AM3 votes

I always report people that say that for negative attitude.

Hell Week8/13/2015, 1:08:07 AM3 votes

the more you know, going to start reporting it. that's pure disrespect.

Lv16 Flaaffy8/13/2015, 2:03:27 AM3 votes

I love people who say "gg ez" and the game lasted well over 50 minutes.

Like "Yeah, how ez? EZ enough to where it took you 2 barons and your 3rd 5th drag to take our nexus ez?"

Yeah I think so. It goes under "Negative Attitude" because it demotes sportsmanship without being a direct verbal attack on someone or using excessive offensive language.

In my opinion, this should not be reportable. There is a thin line between trash talking and flaming. If any enemy says something along the lines of "thanks for the leash" that should not be considered flamming. Now, I would consider flamming to be when you are mentally abusing a certain player or threatening said player. For example, "I hope you get cancer". Since League of Legends is considered an eSport now, lets look at another sport. In basketball, you cannot get a technical foul for saying a game is "easy" post-game. This would fall under the category of trash talk. Someone saying "GG ez" makes most players angry and frustrated. Well, that is the point of trash talking. Trash talking is not toxic nor is it flamming. Trash talking is apart of any competitive sport and League should be no exception. You lost to the enemy. Therefore, reporting them for trash talking just seems like a salty move.

That is just my opinion tho.

Yes that is a report able offense, It's under negative attitude and goes against the Summoners Code most people probably forgot existed.

DogIsGod8/13/2015, 10:10:18 AM2 votes

It's bannable.

Hard Penetrator8/13/2015, 12:34:39 PM2 votes

It's bad sportsmanship and phrase is mainly used to annoy enemy team or show them your "superiority". Its toxic behaviour and it is reportable though I doubt its all that harmful comparing to lets say: Go fuck yourself you fuckking faggot, you are so bad your mother wanted to drown you in toilet but you crawled out and came here to fuck up my day. Go die in a fire you bastard."

Priorities.

iainB858/13/2015, 2:22:08 PM2 votes

You can report... doubtful that alone will get someone banned.

However, I believe there to be a high correlation between people who say, "gg ez" at the end of the game and people who were probably toxic and already have points against them in other games -- so it might help.

Wolfeur8/13/2015, 2:30:06 PM2 votes

An 'easy' should always be reported, no matter which team the player is or wether it is true or false. It's never right.

Unicky8/13/2015, 3:22:31 PM2 votes

Syndra : Ez Ezreal : What? :^)

Y'all need to grow some balls. U don't deserve to play online video games if u can't handle a little trash talk. When u lose, u deserve to. And the enemy has a right to put u down for it. Deal with it, softies.
