Sometimes I'm glad I'm only Silver...

I mean it'd be nice to brag about how I was plat or diamond but at least down here I can play almost any champ I'm half decent with without worrying about "viability". As long as I'm capable enough not to feed most people don't give a shit ._.

I feel like it's opposite. People in Silver "HAVE" to pick Morgana/Gnar/Jarvan/Ahri even if they don't know how to play it... because "op".

actually i am pretty sure champion diversity goes up as you gain elo. People in low elo band wagon champions they think are good but they are junk with them.

I think people in low usually play lee sin, lose cuz you need to actually be good with him to win games, and then come on the forums and say he needs to be nerfed cuz the suck with him, but always get stomped by lee sin players, and then write really long run on sentences.

That's something i picked up on later than i'd like to admit. The higher up you go the more your champion pool dwindles unless your a god with that champions.

I've been at every elo, bronze to diamond, and I can't agree. People in high plat/diamond barely ever question a pick unless its something super awful like urgot

I am Diamond 5 currently and in the latest ranked game I was in I played Master Yi support and won with it. Now I'm not saying that Master Yi support is good or anything (it's awful) but what's "viable" and "meta" doesn't always play out as how maybe you think it would. The public perception of what is viable or not can be very closed down and restrictive towards the bigger picture. Especially in NA LCS where literally the only thing they do is copy other regions and do not have a style of their own (Kennen, Viktor, Hecarim, support Veigar) and I believe this also heavily influences the NA region even all the way down to Bronze.

You can climb to at least high Plat/low Diamond playing any champion if you're good at it.

I feel you. I can play karma support with a regular AP mid runepage and attempt to get my adc ahead... and therefore make up for the cc I lack as a support.

I got into plat and it surely is nothing to brag about.

Ummm what? I've experienced shit from every single game I play in silver, whether it be me or a teammate feeding, playing out of meta champs, not doing what someone else says, and sometimes for no reason at all. Im literally so glad that im outta that shit hole as soon as I got to Gold V no one gave a fuck about what I played and the toxic levels seriously went down. I played a lot of ranked in Gold V, broke the meta numerous times, seen people feed, no negativity or anything

If anything Silver is the worst out of all the Elos, hell even my time in Bronze was better! (Short time in Bronze as well eheh heh heh okay I stop)

From personal experience, tolerance of unusual picks actually goes up as you rise through the ranks.

rumples3/2/2015, 8:19:53 PM2 votes

what sucks is when you work your way up with a familiar champ and then try one your not so pro with and get stomped

test account3/2/2015, 1:12:01 AM2 votes

I hear that it's like that in higher ELOs, too. It's just a matter of being good at the champion.

Or so I hear. I don't know, I was silver last season and I was placed all the way in Bronze V this one so I could care less about ranked now.

ChaoticPinecone3/2/2015, 10:19:34 PM1 votes

For me at least, by the time I hit gold, ive been carried (or been completely stomped) by every damn champion. I only start to say something when someone first-picks viktor then proceeds to feed everybody on the map.

Dragonflight3/3/2015, 12:43:40 AM1 votes

Ya but it's more fun to play a game where people don't feel entitled and whine about every death or missed cs, etc.

Rrett3/3/2015, 1:01:00 AM1 votes

I can play pretty much anything in low plat and it's viable. Even won lane as AD veigar.

Good times.

QueenAqua3/3/2015, 1:04:21 PM1 votes

TaehOcsid from Youtube is in Diamond now. Look him up.

Not Jiffree3/2/2015, 6:18:35 AM1 votes

Yeah you should just be playing champs for their "fun" value.

Spacesuit Spiff3/2/2015, 6:45:47 AM1 votes

Plat is much the same tbh. I just won lane as Naut support, accidentally running adc pages.

Karlyr3/2/2015, 2:19:04 PM1 votes

The higher you get the harder it is to actually carry anything. Sometimes it's funny just to wind down and laugh about how someone is bad and carry them anyway.

Bard in a Diaper3/2/2015, 4:05:02 PM1 votes

there is nothing different about the elo brackets, except skill level. People will be people.

Aerothal3/2/2015, 4:25:13 PM1 votes

sometimes i am glad i'm bronze 'cause...NAH, JK.

Saucefam3/2/2015, 4:31:18 PM1 votes

You can play anything you want in high elo as long as you don't FEED.

DerJabberwocky3/2/2015, 4:57:35 PM1 votes

But the skin.

Giovarco3/2/2015, 5:41:53 PM1 votes

The secret to reach challenger is have fun with the champions that you like, IMO. I don't give a shit about meta champions, I play Urgot.

kunkudunk3/2/2015, 6:04:46 PM1 votes

Honestly, the higher up I have been, the less people care what you pick. Half the time people just joke in champ select if you pick something odd.

Colgate Gator3/2/2015, 9:01:19 PM1 votes

There are so little "Unviable" picks, even Urgod pops in my ranked every now and then, just play what you like.
