Your Shop's RNG has a big problem @wizardcrab
Of the 6 champ skins the Your Shop is offering me a sale on, 3 of them are for champs I don't even own.
Really Rito? Don't you guys know how to write a basic RNG system. The point of sales is to get people to spend money. I'm not going to spend money for a skin for a champ I don't even own. Think about it. Why would I waste RP for a champ I don't have? Seriously, how often do players buy themselves skins for champs they don't own?
This sort of thing pisses me off more than not having the sale would because one, it is an insult, two calling it "your shop" hints that it is personalized somehow (at least use a semi-intelligent RNG, it can't be that hard to only call up sales based on champs owned) when this isn't, and third is that I "lost" 3 potential skins because 3 slots are wasted on crap I'm not going to buy, forth and most egregiously is that is it completely fair to consider riot intentionally made the system so that unowned champs would pop up specifically to limit how many skins a person would get at a sale price.
Since no one in riot knows anything about marketing, let me clue y'all in on something. Sales work because of emotions and impulse buying. That's why companies like JC Penny's overcharges a lot on their regular items or sleazy steam sellers raise the base price of their stuff during a steam sale. They are supposed to make someone happy they are going to get a good deal so they'll spend money.
Right now, my emotions are currently set at insulted and slightly angry. Why would I want to give you guys money when your marketing scheme pissed me off? You know which champ I'm getting the only 60% offer for? One I don't own. So not only did I lose an offer, the best offer this thing gave me is lost as well.
The whole point of business is to make money, isn't it? So if your surprise opportunity to get a deal is making some people less likely to spend money and more unhappy with your company, you've got an issue within your organization. That's a fairly logical conclusion. So doesn't that concern you guys that your attempt to stimulate business before the steam sale is turning away at least some people?
PS. You also started your sale after overwatch released. That was kind of bad timing on your part as 75% of your spending fan base probably already threw their play money for the month at blizzard.
