Hi guys! a lot has been throw at us lately (Jhin, shen rework) and I wanted to see if i could help simplify or add more info to things. How Hextech crafting works

Obtain a Chest by getting a Champion Score of S-, S, or S+, or someone in your premade achieving this. Obtain Keys to open Chests in any matchmade games (like ARAM!). Or you can buy Chests and Keys in the Store for RP.

Opening Chests grants you Champion and Cosmetic Shards (and possibly Essences). These are not actually champions/skins you can use yet

Champion Shards

  • You can combine 3 champion shards to unlock a (random) champion you do not own
  • Turn your champion shard into a permanent (unlocked) champ by using Champion Essences
  • Disenchant (destroy) the shard to gain champion essences
  • Rent the champion for 7 days without having to use any essences(though the shard MAY be destroyed [not tested])

Skin Shards

  • You can combine 3 skins shards to unlock a (random) skin you do not own
  • Turn your skin shard into a permanent (unlocked) skin by using Cosmetic Essences
  • Disenchant (destroy) the shard to gain Cosmetic essences
  • Rent the skin for 7 days without having to use any essences(though the shard MAY be destroyed [not tested])

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I have a question that you may not be able to answer though. When we get the crafting, will it give us chests based on previous S level games we've had? I imagine the system doesn't remember all of those, but it'd be nice if Riot gave us one chest to start off with...

Essences and Shards. I'm trying to figure out which would be better to use when trying to unlock a champion or a skin. Let me ask to clarify then: We can combine 3 shards to unlock a RANDOM skin/champion, but if we have essences we can use those to unlock a specific skin/champion?
