The New Seasonal Event Structure (How it is and How it should be changed)

In case you are unaware of the recent Surrender at 20 post, here it is http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/10/red-post-collection-one-for-all-live.html Within this post is a section where Riot employees discuss how the new Seasonal events will be changed and could now be unrestricted to a certain month of the year. And will most likely not be one single event like it used to be. While this may sound intriguing, do you really want Halloween skins in February? Here is my post on the Surrender at 20 website discussing what I think should happen with these seasonal events:

I'm sorry to everyone that thinks the new Harrowing concept is a good idea but it really isn't. Having this event once a year gives us something to look forward to every year and it makes these releases really exciting because you know it will be coming in its given time period each year (rather than it getting released randomly, I don't want Halloween skins in February, sorry). If you want to do Halloween and Christmas events properly this is what you do:

  • Release the bundle of new stuff (along with the legacy) like you normally do, just make sure to do it at the beginning of the month (rather than the middle/end like previously). This way we have time to use it and play with it as we build up to these holidays. One of the best things about Christmas isn't the actual day itself, but the build up to it. Getting to use the new winter skins on December 1st would be amazing (and same with the Halloween skins on October 1st or at least sometime in the first week of the month), this would allow for cool month long seasonal events.

  • Re-skin summoners rift as well, This was one of the coolest things you guys used to do for these events and it never happens anymore, this is another one of those things that if it got released earlier rather than later would make the build up to these holidays really fun.

  • Create skins that make sense. You guys have done a very good job of this previously and I want to thank you tremendously! Most of the seasonal skins have been my favorite in the whole game and they are honestly the skins I have bought the most. But keeping a theme that fits each of these holidays would be great! I am not a big fan of the pantheon and jinx skins. We don't need a slayer skin, these champions are already monster slayers as it is, they wield heavy weapons that they use to kill things. If you want a real Halloween skin, think about something like Trick or Treat Jinx. Her E, could be jack'o'lanterns, her W could shoot a candy corn, etc. And the fact that it is Trick or Treat fits Jinx's personality. She is quirky and likes to do things that she thinks is fun but others think is horrifying.

I'm not sure if Riot is too busy focusing on balance changes or eSports at the moment or whatever else. But a little more effort into these events could make them really fun month long events for our Favorite times of the year.

**Let me know what you all think as a community. I don't want this to be negative so I am sorry if I came off a little annoyed. But I am passionate about these holidays and Riot could make that experience even more fun with some easy tweaks.
