Thanks Riot.
The following is from a Rioter named Repertoir in response to another thread.
**"Hi, thanks for the post. **
You don't really listen to the PBE, so what data are these changes gathering?
I get that it may feel this way, but it's not really true. Skarner and Graves are examples of where we didn't tune back given PBE feedback, and they came back too strong. However, there are also cases like Kog'Maw (where PBE people said he would be broken, we nerfed him a little bit, and he came out too weak), so it can be hit or miss.
**There's also quite a bit to be gathered just from players' reaction to changes on sites like Surrender@20 or Reddit. At the end of the day we will sometimes (and maybe more often than not) have some unpopular decisions to make, but it's hardly because we don't care about people's opinions. It's a matter of balancing that perspective against what we think is right for the game state. Thank you for a concise and complete response, Repertoir. I'm happy that you've admitted that Riot doesn't always listen to the PBE, rather than saying the contrary (that you always do), but what makes me actually happy is that you explain why this is and give examples of both outcomes (listening and not listening to the PBE). " **
I admit, I was one of those PBE testers that said Kog'maw was too strong. I did believe he was too strong in the PBE, though I had no solution to give as feedback so I cannot blame Riot for having him come out too weak.
I know I've gotten pretty upset at Riot at times, but its not because I want to complain, it's becaues I love this game and I want to see it grow, just like you. I feel like this is the majority of players. I'm going to do that thing where it looks like i'm kissing your ass in hopes of a Red reply, but I'm genuine about this I wanted to say: Thank you for your work, we do appreciate it, even when we say we don't.
After-all League of Legends is a mutual relationship, without out you there'd be no League of Legends, and without us there'd be no Riot Games, just a quirky office that has an infestation of nerds and the odd assortment geeks. I've played this game for six years about, as I'm only 20 years old that's a pretty significant chunk of my memorable life. I'm not going to say I feel like we're family, but I definitely respect and admire your expertise and devotion to a game that revolves soley around community.
Even with us bitching about the community being crap, that Riot doesn't care anymore, time after time you prove us wrong. While our community is pretty toxic, that being our faults more than your own, you have shown us that even through automated help tickets, you still fight the good fight and put out patch after patch to fix my main bro
, who still has more bugs than the Shuriman Desert and you still listen to the community as much as possible, even with our vague responses, or frustrated posts that scream " Please Nerf [Insert Champion] !!!"
You all have a good one and I'll see you on Summoners Rift.
