I love Rito!
I just finished the survey, and it got me thinking about how much I love Riot as a company. There are so many things that make me love not just the game, the Riot itself. Everything in the shop is fairly priced and tends not to give any unfair advantages - the only thing I would bring up is the rune pages themselves, as they are much cheaper to buy with rp than ip. But runes themselves can ONLY be purchased with ip, and those are where the power really is. And rune pages aren't totally inaccessible. It's not unreasonable to buy all 18 rune pages you would need purely with ip (though I wouldn't.) Everything that can only be purchased with rp is purely aesthetic, and well worth their price if you play as much as I do. Over the three years since I've started playing, I've easily put over $200 into league, and I wish I could have put in much more. Riot also has proven that they are dedicated to making the game great FIRST. Patches come out VERY frequently, and the updates, even if they aren't always the right changes, at least are attempting to actually fix the problems that do exist. The game itself is very balanced due to Riot's attention to feedback and excellent understanding of game design. Riot's also very transparent - I have the Surrender@20 app on my phone and check the site frequently on my laptop and read pretty much everything on them. It's very educational, and members from all across the company will talk about various subjects, from balance to art and story to player behavior. There are always tons of red posts here on the boards from people in the company directly responding to player's concerns and thoughts. The results of feedback are regularly seen in patches, especially if you follow the pbe changes. It builds a really strong relationship with the players that makes me trust Riot as a company to try not to screw me over, and makes me more confident to continue playing the game. Even when I don't like a certain aspect of what's going on currently, I always trust that Riot is listening and paying attention, and was probably already figuring out a fix before I even noticed there was a problem - a well-founded trust based on their previous actions. Support has always been quick and fair compared to other companies I've dealt with in the past. It's easy to see why League of Legends is as successful as it is - not because of clever marketing, but because the company that makes puts all their effort into creating a good experience rather than trying to squeeze any penny out of the game and the players until it has no more blood to drink like pretty much every other company out there. A big part of why I still play league of legends and plan to for many years still is because I enjoy what Riot is doing and I'm really excited to see what they're going to do next.
