Are we not allowed to see our purchased skins as part of a marketing strategy?
Riot has known that players wanted this for a while, so why don't they do it? It can't be hard to implement. In fact, it would serve very similarly to an extra tab on your profile like the one that shows the champions you own. It got me thinking:
If we could see all the skins that we ever bought or had gifted to us, would it make us stop buying more skins? Riot makes money off of the fact that we don't realize how much money we have already spent and don't see the options for the skins that we already have. If I was thinking of buying a new skin, and I looked at the ones I had already, I might just see Annie in Wonderland and play that instead of spending more money.
If a Rioter could explain a concrete reason as to why this has never been implemented, that would be great. Even if they have to make up something about the skins database being held on a lower-traffic server. The entire client is being rebuilt from the ground up this year, so it can't be an issue with adding the code in to the client. I would like a Rioter to respond on this matter, even if it's just to say that you humanly understand the issue but fiscally refuse to resolve it. Riot is a company like any other, and it needs to make money from microtransactions, so I think we'd be okay if that was the only reason.
Side Note: People have been asking for a feature to view the skins you own for a long time now, and threads asking for this show up from time to time. The one that got me thinking of this was a recent post by 'fishing l3g3nd' http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/32QdEhUw-add-an-option-somewhere-in-client-or-store-to-view-all-the-skins-you-own
