Toxic Phobia in match making games.

So I wanted to see how others feel about this issue I have grown really irritated from. I first off want to say I never post on forums really for this game because really never had a reason to want to complain about something in this game. So this issue I have relates strictly to matchmaking games does not matter which mode. I will make this clear in no way do I claim to be a top tier player but I do well enough. My problem is how the community in this game has seem to define a toxic player as anyway who says anything to critique a player’s performance.

Example: We have all seen this in Solo Q. A player in top lane dies first 10 seconds in lane then tele's back to lane goes right in and dies again. Then after he feeds top lane enough you go into team fight phase and he starts getting caught out and feeding more kills to team not just once but like 3 times. This goes on nonstop the whole game and possibly other lanes doing the same thing.

Now what is Riot tell us to do? They say be friendly give advice to the player try to help that player learn and give them advice. In general any players that do not communicate or work with team and unskilled players is who I’m referring to with what I am about to say. Getting to the point is about players now are just reporting people for being toxic anytime someone tries to say something to them or tell them they are screwing their team over. No need for me to dive deep into what I mean by that many of you have probably dealt with this same issue. So there are two ways you can approach telling someone they are not playing good right? You can telling them they suck and should just uninstall for some of you probably tell them to hang their selves. That is not what Riot wants us to do thought and you will most likely get in trouble for it. I myself do not feel that is how it should be handled either though. So you do the right thing and ask politely for them to group for team fight or stop feeding or whatever pick something they are doing to screw up the game. Game goes on you ask 20 times they say F-you or you get the sensitive ones that even if you’re not cursing at them call you toxic and negative. Like take game I had for example last night that kind of led me to write this post. I’m and JG Jax is feeding top keeps dying goes right back into lane and dies again. Then Bot Lane just as bad. One of those deals you cannot even make it to lane to gank because every time you get going that way they die before you can make your way there.

So at the end of game after you have had your words with each other even if it is not raging at them or cursing just make critique upon their mistakes in game they cry and want to report you. Now what is really bad is all the unskilled other player that will sometimes jump on the wagon and report you as well. Better yet when they manage to get a few for the other team in on it too. The sad part is if you’re player that knows this game you can see when another player is not working with their team or feeding and making tons of mistakes. If you cannot make that judgement then you’re just as bad as them probably in most cases. When I say critique or saying something to them I mean in a polite nice way. I have come across both ways though I will not lie but I always start out polite. But after 20 times of asking your team to group and push for objectives or something most anyone get tired of being nice. In all fairness I have went whole games politely asking and some got mad a raged a little. I have no problem being honest about it. Point I am trying to make is this community now seems to be stuck on everything is toxic player anytime they do not like something said or asking to surrender because you know there is no way your team is going to win and want to get on to another game. The word toxic has become an escape goat for unskilled players in this game. At even the mention from one person on your team says the word toxic about another player everyone is quick to report on enemy team as well. They will report even though in many cases the enemy team has no idea what was being said on the other team. So all in all tribunal and automated system is supposed to handle this so Riot tell us. That is supposed to sort out if you were really guilty of what you’re reported for. My problem in all is the term toxic player and how to many are just spamming that word everywhere like it’s going out of style. It is as bad as # in our society. So what is a toxic player I ask? It is funny because see to me it’s not a player that is cursing at a player for constantly screwing up in a game. That is just an A—Hole maybe at most. What is toxic is player playing in competitive modes of the game that do not understand even the basic fundamentals of the game. Fundamentals such as wards so you don’t get ganked, team fighting, laneing and last hitting. There are basic low level principles to this game you should know before you jump in any competitive modes even if not ranked. But my problem is when its oblivious you have no clue how to really play and you want to get an attitude when someone says so and tries to critique you in a polite manner. It players like this that create toxicity among this game. Players like this make competitive play in matchmaking unpleasant and not enjoyable. It does not matter if you lose but when you cannot hardly every have a decent game that is a problem. You get like 9 out 10 games where at least 1 person is feeding, will not group with team to push for objectives for team fight. Please already quit with the toxic player crap because someone told you that you need to learn how to play before playing in competitive modes. My main point please stop the madness! Toxic players by definition are those who create any unpleasant, or hostile gaming environment. Well sorry to tell you it’s unpleasant to play with someone who does not even understand basic principles of game and working with their team. Guess what that makes you a toxic player does it not? It irritates me more than anything when you get players that do not work with their team and that seems to be the most common problem in matchmaking modes. I feel if Riot wants to promote a better community for this game they first need to focus on those players that do not get the concept of teamwork. This whole game is built around that concept. Riot must foster teamwork first if they want a better community in this game. Then after that part gets straight then they can worry about the raging lunatics spamming up your screens with nasty words. Sorry was kind of long winded with this but wanted to make it clear where I was coming from in this post. Just wanted to vent my thought to community see what feedback comes out.
