Ranked Climbing System

I have created this discussion to talk about the ranked system. I have recently jumped from Gold 3 to Gold 1 after a 4+? game win streak on a 14 wins / 5 loss records. In my first victory in Gold 1, I gained 31 LP and lost about 8 for my first loss. Unfortunately, my 14/5 record would become 20/22 in a week. Today, I won a game and gained 18 LP (which I agree, is fair, for my recent performance), but lost the whole 18 pts instantly after losing a game. I do not understand why LP loss should ever match LP gain, this does not encourage climbing of the ladder and does not encourage people to overcome losing streaks. I have just experienced such losing streaks (haven't won 2 in a row in past 20 ranked) and feels very frustrated, but this frustration is furthered when I realize I can't even stay positive and keep trying to break the losing trends. I think LP gain should be set to a maximum where it gets close to the minimum gain, but does not match it, as many players suffer from unlucky matchmaking and/or other issues such as lag.
