Asking for reports in /all is not going to get someone to play better

My bot lane begged for reports against me because I wouldn't gank for them.

Guess what... that is not going to make anyone want to gank for you. If someone is feeding asking for reports is not going to make them feed less. Unless you want your own team tilting or intentionally throwing there is no reason to call for reports in game. If someone is intentionally feeding '/all report X inting' is not going to make them stop.

Adding fuel to the fire is just going to ensure your loss. I get it, you are angry and lack the ability to control your emotions but I promise you that asking for the enemy to report a teammate has never once made someone play better.

Your right and here more reasons why

Just so you know:

Inciting a report is a reportable and ban able offense

informing enemy team on allies is a reportable and ban able offense

overall its unsportsmanlike behavior. Don't do it.

My opinion- People report call for one or more of the following reasons:

  1. They are just angry and need to vent-
  2. They are deflecting attention away from their own poor play
  3. They want to disassociate themselves from what they see as a weak team (particularly if they do this in /all chat) - they are essentially saying to the enemy "Its my team's fault that we are losing, not me"
  4. They confuse "intentional feeding" with having a bad game
  5. They actually believe that they are trying to make that person play better by pointing out their mistakes.

I don't really think that those people who report call actually follow through with their threat. I could be wrong but I reckon that these are just empty threats.

i have to say that sometimes it's not about making them play better that particular game. (granted, this is situational, i am by no means saying every /all report request is like this) some of us resign ourselves to a loss and it's ok, it happens. but i have had a personal experience of an enemy team asking for a report on a player and it was well warranted. both teams reported this player who had become toxic in all chat, and before champ select of the following game, we had all received notice that said player had been punished. and it felt good. maybe they didn't play better that particular game, but at least there's a possibility of them being punished for the bs they pull. plus the whole report system is used to punish unsportsmanlike players and "rehab" them into being better players. so yes, sometimes calling for reports does actually make people play better. just maybe not right away or every time. but some people very well earn the reports and the instant feedback system sometimes needs more than just a couple voices speaking up against someone

An emeny: Report my team, boosted animals. Me: You realize you are part of your team and you just asked to be reported along with admitting you are a boosted animal, right?

Anyway back to the topic. Yeap it sucks. I dont care how bad someone played, dont flame him. Deal with the situations presented, find a way to improve your chances of winning rather than decreasing them by flaming. You are throwing away your chances to win by doing that. And it really feels bad for receiving end. I end up muting people after a couple vicious comments if i am in really bad situation, i got get my shit together and no time to argue if i need to be reported.

Its even more silly and frustrating when you are ahead, someone else is behind and the rest of the team starts flaming him. Oh i snowballed bot lane, got my adc fed, my Zyra just got eye sorcs guise meaning reached a major damage spike, while team8s start flaming that top that got countered and its massacred due to counterpick. Now starts the crusial point of the game, its time to play around the map, create picks, take objectives establish vision in the enemy jungle and what my jungler does? Flames top. Yup his priority is to throw away a slightly winning game because top failed. And i am here thinking what a waste of a lead that was.

I wont forget a particular game around S2. I was Yorick top after his first round of nerfs still a sustain monster. I was stomping Olaf while my cassio was being dumpstered by Le blanc (both outcomes expected tbh due to champion counters). Instead of flaming her like my team what i did? Offered her a swap. LB bursted me with ignite to 40% hp, back to full next wave. Skimrmishes started, 4v4 went in our favor due to an unkillable Yorick while Casio was enjoying farming top against a weak Olaf even killing him 1v1. At late game, she was farmed and became the late game monster, fights were in our favor and finally won the game with significant lead. Had i just not offered her swap and just flamed her like the rest of my team, maybe LB would snowball bot as well. Maybe i would be playing 1v5. But nope, i offered a simple and friendly solution that won us the game.

i usually dont report someone on the enemy team unless theyre being toxic in all chat, intentionally feeding(running it down mid ,etc), or if they afked and it cost them the game and even then i usually wont report that unless i find out it was a rage quit or something like that
