Reporting, tribunal, and negative attitudes

I recently got a chat restriction for talking to people after they insulted me. Do riot employees ever review this stuff or is it entirely decided by another player?

I am getting warnings for being reported by people who literally do nothing but talk trash and play horribly all game. They play like shit, they insult everybody around them and blame everybody and then THEY REPORT YOU!

I'm being punished for this shit and it's pissing me off. I am generally nice, if somebody is mean to me I am often mean back, that's how the people usually behave in the real world. I don't understand how this community is so piss poor and backwards that it will punish those who are ALWAYS NICE until they are insulted. There is a serious problem here with this system. /rant

I am often mean

That is the only relevant part of this thread. That is why you got a chat restriction. There is never an acceptable reason to be toxic to another player. "He started it!" is a child's excuse.

If someone is being toxic, just mute them and report them. The system obviously works, because you got caught by being toxic. Use it to your advantage instead of stooping to their level and being punished too.

when will people learn that the system does not work. all it takes is for more than 2 people on the opposing team to trigger a warning. enough warnings is an automatic ban that's not checked by any human. it's run through an automated system that just sends out the chat restriction/ban without even showing you why.

Your behavior is still toxic. The fact that they "were toxic first" does not mean you get to be toxic.

As always: Mute, report, move on.

I can't deny that I haven't felt tilted before from other players being salty... but keep in mind, verbally fighting back doesn't really help anything. You see it wouldn't be that big of a deal if it was to your face (to which I agree, if someone is consistently verbally harassing you outside of the game, you have all the power to make it stop however you want). This is online...there are faces on the other side of the screen, which is why it frustrates you right? That someone, another person is insulting YOU for how you play? I can understand that.

But this is a different case when it comes to reaction...this is in a MATCH, a game that you're devoted to for however long it takes to finish up. During that time, tensions can get high; you can get on tilt, you can get raving mad. But you know what? You're STILL in the game. It's not like a realistic scenario where you can deal with the issue and walk off when you wish, you have to fully finish the game before you can leave (otherwise you'll face the wrath of leavebuster). You made a commitment to a game that you should fully go through. They can be the MOST nasty players with what they say, but the point that others in the comments are trying to make is that responding to them doesn't help anything. It doesn't help YOU especially, because you're putting more mind into the argument than you are the game itself.

It's frustrating to receive the reports, but try to pay heed to your own words too. If they're being nasty, the best case scenario is to simply mute them and move on. You can handle it however you wish...it's just the most effective way to get around salty people.

TL;DR: Bitching back doesn't help anything, so mute button would be better.

I have had this problem on and off for the past 20 games. I have been super tilted, and have like a 10% winrate (I Know it's terrible, usually around 70%) due to the toxicity of other players tilting me.

The new south park (safe space) reminds me of this entire situation and riot's attitude about it. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
