Is the In-Game tribunal system fair for everyone? Why or why not?

I think that riot's tribunal system (the report system) is extremely unfair and ineffective.

Due to league's seemingly toxic 75% of its community, The report system allows for toxic players to report non-toxic players for illegitimate reasons that usually go unrecognized by the riot team.

Not to mention the fact that when a truely toxic player is REPORTED, they rarely receive any immediate consequences.

I personally feel as though an In-Game chat filter would easily help with these issues. Riot could develop a pool of keywords that when used in the chat box, trigger a warning message that might look something like this: Attention summoner! You have used a seemingly toxic word or combination of words in the chat box, This is unnecessary and doesn't help YOUR team in winning the game. Please understand, and refrain from using such profanity towards your allied and enemy team mate, thank you.

If a keyword is used a maybe three or four times...(someone might mess up and accidentally type something that wasn't in a negative context but the system found as a negative word, so multiple warnings should be fair here) then after that fourth time, the player will receive a chat restriction for the remainder of their game.

this would abolish harassment, flaming, and possibly spamming...

I don't feel as though the chat box isn't used CORRECTLY. I just feel as though some people abuse it and this proposed system would maintain that everything said in chat is game relevant. Which is how I personally feel league intended it.

I also feel like /all chat should be done away with... There is NO NEED...ever in a league game where you should communicate (or need to) with the enemy...in football do you give the other team YOUR playbook? no. In football, you're even reprimanded for taunting the enemy if it is over excessive...

The feature /all chat only causes issues in my opinion... Its fun on occasion but, the majority of the time It is abused and used for taunting or toxic behavior.

This post is kind of about being nice and what should be done to better the communities POSITIVE behavior... Lets please keep this topic consistent. Revisions and/or other idea's stemming off of mine are great, as well as your own personal opinions. I'd like to hear if you guys AGREE or disagree with me. If you disagree, and say that our tribunal system is fine, I would really appreciate to know why you feel that way. If you're able to just sit down and take the harassment from toxic players I would understand where you would have no trouble with our system.

I'm able to ignore the harassment as well, I only feel as though it is unnecessary and...to be blatent...I don't waste 4 hours or more on this game to REALLY spend 2 hours being harassed by other players. I play to have fun and teach and encourage others. But thats me.

Numbers are always going to vary depending on who you ask, only had one toxic person in my last game, but others might have more on top of the fact that one case of being toxic isn't enough to get one banned, as it shouldn't be.

Instead of working on the symptoms they need to work on the problem. Toxicity is just that, a symptom. And it's created by RIOT. Lets consider all the things RIOT does to promote toxic behavior in this game.

1. RIOT does not require runes in ranked play.

RIOT allows an inexperienced player to enter ranked matched unprepared and at a disadvantage. This not only demoralizes the player, it of course will cause negative feeling toward this player from his team mates. This in turn causes the player to react negatively thus building a toxic environment.

Solution: Make runes free or require 2 complete tier 3 rune pages for ranked play.

2. RIOT doesn't require a learning period for newly purchased champs.

A player buys the newly released champ and ques rank with no clue about the champ or his mechanics. This creates the same potential for toxicity as in #1.

Solution: A.Have a 2 week period after a champ is purchased that the champ is not available for ranked play and/or have a set requirement for games played with a champ before they are available for ranked play. B. If a player falls below a certain rank ( win/loss%) with a champ this champ becomes ineligible for ranked play until certain requirements are met. 5 games played in team builder with this champ for instance.

**3. Most importantly in my opinion is this. RIOT only punishes the symptom and not the disease. **

If I get in a game with a "first time ap Trynd mid" with no runes should I really be punished for getting upset and telling this person exactly what I think of them? How about "I just bought ekko, he is op so I am playing him whatever role I get" I have to just keep my mouth shut and take the loss after these people feed because if I say anything negative to them I am the one who is toxic and will be punished. Where is the justice in that?

In my opinion its really hard to say. Can you honestly believe every single person who comes to the forums and complains that they felt they were in the wrong with being reported? More often than not from what i have seen is that when people retaliate they also get in trouble, and in my opinion its rightly so. I dont care how right you think/feel you are, its no reason to call someone out. If it doesnt contribute to the game dont say/do anything about it in the game!

Also almost everyone's opinion on what is toxic is completely different. People think swearing is a cause for toxicity, some people think using a champion in a different role is being toxic. There really is no solid definition that we can all agree on what is toxic in that game. Until then they just have to rule any and all types of toxic behavior and punish accordingly!
