Anyone else having major drops in fps...

On the new summoner's rift? I just played a game with my friends on the current summoners rift with no issue, followed by a match on the new summoners rift where if there were 4 or more people doing something on my screen, my fps dropped to 2. This has never happened to me before and I have a really good laptop. Anybody else getting these spikes on the new summoners rift? Did they increase the graphic requirements for the new rift or something? I'm really baffled, I've never experienced anything like that since I started playing League.
