Higher FPS

I have been looking through different graphics cards, soon realizing that I have no virtual clue about what I'm doing. I know that I would like a good graphics card so that i can have great fps, on average I have around 20-30 FPS and it drops to 10-12 when I have a video playing or something else loading. If anyone could help me in picking a graphics card that would go with my computer, that would be wonderful :D

I don't actually know if this is needed on your quest to help me but I'm gonna do it anyways.

Processor: AMD FC(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor Intalled memory (RAM): 10.0 GB (9.84 GB usable) System type: 64-bit Operating System Display Adapter/Graphics Card (I think): AMD Radeon HD 7450

If there is anything else that you need to know just ask, and the price range would be around $200~.

A 7450 is fairly low-end and the weakest component in your system. (Second-weakest being CPU, but the reason is complicated and it's good enough.)

With your price range I think you'd want to look into an Nvidia Geforce 760 or a Radeon R7 (not sure exactly which R7s are best bang-for-buck right now). If you're concerned that you don't have a strong enough power supply, a Geforce 750 would still be an upgrade and I believe should run fine either without additional power or off a basic adapter that it comes with.

Also tell me if I already have something good but I'm not using it right? I don't know I would just like to know how to make my computer run faster.

Not to sound picky or anything but would the Geforce 760 make a big impact on my computer's performance?

where to start... Just Yesterday Toms hardware came out with 2 articles that greatly benefit your question. here are the links:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html#xtor=EPR-8886

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html#xtor=EPR-8886

Now is the time to act if you want to upgrade your machine. plug the best components you can afford into pcpartpicker.com and monitor the prices every day.

Also please review your ram. 10 GB sounds wrong. for best performance, ram should always be installed in pairs and always have the same clock rate. if you just threw in some old with some new without looking at compatibility, you might hurt your computers performance. around black friday look for sales on ram, buy in pairs or four at a time (like 2x8 or 4x4) 16 GB is not that pricey anymore. PC1600 should be just fine for you.

ask if you have more questions, i will gladly help you if i can! Cheers, Aero

edit:

if you can squeeze out 40 more bucks, go with this one!

I have the old Radeon HD7870 and play league on highest settings. (i have an i7 3770k and 16gb ram)

and please dont get the gtx760 or (god beware) gtx750.

the R9 280x is only $20 more than the GTX 760 and performs at the level of a GTX 770.
