Lag in 5.5

So Riot, I'm not sure if the company knows but I've had an insane amount of lag in 5.5(albeit I'm on a Mac?), but its to the point where the game is unplayable. I just afk'ed 10 minutes into a normal because it is insane. I am more a determent to my team with the lag than not being there at all; plus it simply isn't fun anymore with 1.2k ping. I am not sure if this is a known issue or not, but I figured I'd report it anyway. =D.
