Smart Callouts

A recent frustration of mine has been playing the champion Zilean. Not that Zilean is a bad champion, far from it really. But I play in solo queues mostly, and I find that people just don't get his ult... they don't look for it, they don't notice it, and they don't understand that if they run in and die, they will be healed for a ton of health.

So instead of just ulting someone, before a fight I will tell someone that I would like to ult them. That way they are looking for it, but it ties me down to ulting just one person during the fight or else I run the risk of wasting my ult and thus losing the team fight.

It got me thinking that there are quite a bit of ults that could be better utilized with teamwork if people just told everyone that they were planning on or using the spells. And then I had an idea.

So what if we could pre-write callouts for certain skills (not every skill) to communicate more efficiently on what we are doing. For example, Zilean's ult could now when used write a message. "%TARGET% has my ult! Go die for health!" or Karthus can say "Using my ult, kill em all." These messages would be customizable to add some of your own personality to them, but would allow for triggers like the %TARGET% above (which would make it so the target of your ult's name would be called out.)

Obviously, skills like Karthus' Q would not be allowed for this type of program. But other skills that have a long cooldown and are important to communicate can be included. Also, summoner spells could be used for this. "I have ignited %TARGET%" "Flash down!" "Teleporting onto %TARGET% %PINGTARGET%" In terms of spam and offensive messages, these would be treated like normal chat messages.

Anyway. Just an idea.

i wouldn't mind that. i would even be happy if zileans ult was more visible in the chaos of a team fight. but, ultimately that is part of the game and people learning to pay attention to the forest, rather than just the trees.

i do like the idea of more ping/s call outs etc
