Trouble with CS as ADC

I've noticed that when I'm playing an ADC I cannot CS properly. I am used to taking farm with Veigar's Q. After I auto attaack with Caitlyn I am constantly fooled into thinking that my auto attack animation is complete as soon as the bullet strikes the minion. After the bullet strikes the minion I like to move away from the minion to keep myself safe. As soon as I move the auto attack is canceled even tho the bullet animation literally strikes the minion. Is this ever going to be changed or is it going to stay this way?
