How good are you at League really?

Rank is a pretty good indicator of a person's skill. A person in gold is probably better than some one in silver, and someone in Diamond is better than a whole lot of people.

But I believe that rank alone is kinda obscure. For example, it's really not that surprising that a person who has played for a thousand more hours that someone else is way above them on the ladder. Is someone in Plat III really way better than someone in gold I when the plat III person has played for 1600 hours compared to the gold person's 1050?

That said, it took me 1396 hours or about 58 days (of continuous play) to reach Plat IV. I realize that this also includes normal and custom game hours, but I consider that okay because even in normals you are playing the game and improving. Time you've put into normals should help you become a better player and help you in your ranked games.
