Concerning the buyout (@riot)

I read all these articles 2 days ago concerning the chinese corp Tencent buying all the remaining Riot shares... They are now the only shareholders and people are shiting their pants about the compagny enforcing micro-transaction policies into the game eventually.

Is this just a rumor? Bullshit? Truth?

I just need something from riot so i don't flip my appartment upside down.

enforcing micro-transaction policies into the game

Are you on drugs? Are people crying about this matter generally high?

What do you mean enfrorcing? This game is made from the ground up for microtransactions, and they are fucking everywhere. It's just that they don't pose an obstraction to your gameplay, and they do not affect player balance. The fact that they don't give players any advantage, thus not turning this game into a pay to win, doesn't mean that microtransactions do not exist.

There are microtransactions for the stupidest of stuff, there are mystery boxes ever for the bloody icons for crying out loud.

99% likely that the game will continue to run as it always has

Oh fun, now we get the sesame credit corporation supporter as the ONLY owner of this game

They already owned 98% before this. They could do whatever they please. Nothing is going to change. At least you are nice enough to not yell at them to fire "every incompetet rito employi" because they think you can fix bugs in two minutes.

China owns everything... even some of the United States.

Tencent has held the majority shares of Riot Games for YEARS now. Nothing happened then, nothing will happen now.

I get it, Sesame Credit is extremely morally reprehensible, but it doesn't affect us non-Chinese folk, and even if it did there'd be nothing we could do about it.

The micro-transactions have not gotten worse, the business model is the same as it has always been.

Tencent bought the game to make stock dollars off of it. They don't have any more pull on Riot Games than we do. If they decide to pull out of Riot Games, it would be because we the consumers did it first. That's what happens when you do investment with stocks to make money.

The sky isn't falling Chicken Little. Calm yourself.

I think I saw a video the other day about the Tencent company.....and ooooh boy China might be in trouble with them..... I hear Tencent is working in conjunction with the government to make a game to teach citizens to be more obedient to the government via positive reinforcement and social networking rewards.
