Just had a look at the new champion select for normals, why do we have to still type our roles in the chat ?

you dont. but its just smarter because of mad ppl who use everything for an excuse to blame their fail on you and because flex. for example gragas.
you could play him top jungle and even support.
if you just lock in gragas ppl cant tell which lane you pick. sure they could watch your summoner spells but i also had ppl said they are jungle and had tp/flash and in the last 2 sec they changed to smite/tp.
Ya with how much champions basically can go just about anywhere you should never assume especially if you can't communicate in chat!
