Ideas for Leona
I like that RIOT is trying to add a bit more to Leona. Here are some changes I think would be great: (some of which is based on RIOT's ideas)
Passive(current): Leona marks enemies with Sunlight for 3.5 seconds each time she damages them with an ability. Allied champions consume Sunlight on enemies they damage, dealing 20 - 140 (based on level) bonus magic damage.
Possible change: When Leona's W, E, or R affect an Enemy champion, large or epic monster, they are marked with sunlight for 4 seconds. If an allied champion attacks a marked target, the deal 15+5/lvl (15-100) bonus magic damage and granting 1/2 as much flat movement speed for 4 seconds to both the attacking Ally and Leona. After 1 second, if no ally has proc'd the mark, Leona can proc it herself for 1/2 effectiveness (8-50 bonus damage) but no bonus speed.
This incorporates Leona as a team player still, but the added affect vs large monsters lets her be more help to her jungler as well. Since I gave her the ability to proc it herself, allowing her to still get something when alone or when no one can follow up, I compensated by removing her Q as an ability that marks with sunlight. Its only 1/2 effective with no movement speed buff when she self procs, so she still does much better with teammates.
Q(Current): ACTIVE: Leona's next basic attack gains bonus attack range, deals bonus magic damage to her target and stuns them. Shield of Daybreak resets Leona's autoattack timer and accelerates her next basic attack. Mana Cost: 45/50/55/60/65 Cooldown: 11/10/9/8/7 Bonus Attack Range: +30 (155 total) Bonus Damage: 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+ 30% AP) Stun Duration: 1.25 seconds.
Possible Changes: Leona's next basic attack gains bonus attack range, deals bonus magic damage to her target and stuns them. Shield of Daybreak resets Leona's autoattack timer and accelerates her next basic attack.
Mana Cost: 30/35/40/45/50
Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5
Bonus Attack Range: +30 (155 total)
Bonus Damage: 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+ 35% AP)
Stun Duration: 1 second
Huge Mana cost reduction, cooldown reduction means more stuns, more often. The bonus range never really made sense to me, since its a shield bash, she has more reach with her sword. :P The damage is nerfed since she can proc her own passive now, and because it will be up more. The increased uptime is also why we nerf the stun duration.
W- No changes here.
E- Only change I want to suggest is that Leona can now Zenith Blade to large and epic monsters. This will increase her flexiblity when entering the dragon/baron pit, give her a single situational escape while running, and overall feel more consistent.
- EDIT- Oh, and the increased Root duration RIOT put on in is good I think. So increase root duration by .25 seconds.
R(Current): Leona calls down a beam of solar energy to the target location after a 0.625-second delay, dealing magic damage to all enemies it hits and slowing them by 80% for 1.5 seconds. Enemies in the center of the flare are stunned instead for the same duration.
Suggested changes: Make the slow and stun duration start at 1 second, but scale by .5 seconds for each additional enemy champion affected beyond the first. Rewards Leona for hitting at least 3 enemy champions. The slow and stun is not really that important for minions/monsters and epics are immune anyway. Also, I really like RIOT's idea for Incandescence. My thoughts for that passive:
Incandescence: (granted if Leona hits an enemy champion with Solar Flare for 10 seconds) Your next 3 attacks have 100 bonus range and deal 20/35/50 (+0.1 AP) bonus magic per enemy champion hit by Solar Flare damage on hit.
I just really like the idea of Leona being rewarded for hitting multiple enemies with her Ult. :P
