Does Time Increase Elo?

For example, have most players that are gold and higher been playing for longer than one season? I have only been lvl 30 for one season and my ranked experience has been terrible. Got to silver 3 out of provisional and now I'm silver 4 with 0 LP, I think I'm on like a 20 loss streak or something. I play mainly supp so obviously I can't get mad because I don't have as much control over the match as a yasuo mid would or something like that. But still, I thought if I'm a good support that I would still climb elo but I have been dropping a bunch. Now I just don't play ranked. Do you think I should just play ranked and if I drop to bronze 5 then so be it? I feel like achieving a high elo is kind of a goal that league players should strive to but at the same time I just have NOT had fun in ranked.

Skill and knowledge comes with experience.

Personally, I didn't bother playing ranked games until after playing for a couple seasons. While I may have missed out on rewards for S4 (RIP Victorious Morgana), I didn't want to bother until I was confident enough in my gameplay.

If you don't think you are doing well, I would recommend practicing in normal games until next season. They are far less stressful than ranked games and it is much easier to experiment in them.
