One Word Answer: Where's the Harm?

Greetings everyone, and especially the Riot creative design team! This is a little long, and I apologize ahead of time. A TL;DR is provided at the end.

My name isn't actually Colonel Ziva. The Colonel is an original character of mine, a Noxian soldier and veteran of the Ionian invasion and the Barbarian Pacification. She holds strength above all, as a true Noxian should, and her loyalty lies with the Grand General Jericho Swain.

As you can probably see, I'm a writer, and a roleplayer, and I hold the lore of the League of Legends in high regard. Most people I know as a roleplayer, and many others, have lost faith in Riot's storytelling, and abandoned the pasttime as it pertains to LoL, but I haven't yet. I still look forward to the stories you can tell.

For the record, the Colonel is not the only character I play. In fact, I don't often play her at all; I chose her for my Summoner Name because she was the only original character I had whose name was worth using at the time. No, the character I play the most is Vi, across three separate media. I try my hardest to stay as close to the lore as I can, while also developing her as a person.

Until Jinx's introduction, I was quite satisfied with my performances. But as of late, I find myself a little unsure, because of one little detail: Whether or not Vi and Jinx are sisters as is heavily hinted at, but never confirmed by Riot employees. And I just want to ask: Why?

I understand that you don't want to give away too much of the story too early. Believe me, I certainly understand. I also understand that you prefer us to fill in the gaps ourselves, rather than dictate the whole story to us. You prefer the dynamic, interactive approach. Although I disagree with that, I respect it.

But at the moment, many people--perhaps not most, but many--have, as I previously stated, lost faith in Riot's storytelling. Things are dangled over our heads, but left hanging there as focus shifts elsewhere, and it's months, if not years, before we hear anything more. This is trying to some people's patience, and so they stop roleplaying and theorycrafting--and in some cases, they even stop playing League at all.

Prior to Sivir's upgrades, and the hints at new or reworked lore regarding Shurima Desert that came with her new voice lines, the focus had been on Jinx and Vi, and what relation they have to each other. Riot's creative team danced around the question of whether or not Jinx and Vi were sisters, never directly answering, likely for reasons I gave above. Other, non-Riot sources refer to Jinx as Vi's sister, but never an official Riot source (in public, anyway). As a writer and roleplayer so very invested in Vi's character, I, too, find this incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

As such, I want to call on Riot's creative design team to give us one, single-word answer on the matter. Throw the ravenous dogs a bone. One single word will not give away anything worth telling. There are still huge gaps to fill either way. In fact, I can present to you what I believe will still be left with just a simple "yes" or "no."

If Yes, Jinx and Vi are sisters:

-- How? Is it biological? Is it just some symbolic title from being gangmates in the past? Is one the clone of the other? Paradox clones?

-- Why doesn't Vi know? Separated at an early age? Memory wipe of some sort? Is it because one is the clone of the other? Paradox clones?

-- Who are their parents? Were they Piltovian? Zaunite? Something else? There is, after all, that fantheory involving Sona and Singed.

-- Do they have any other siblings? If so, who else? Again, that popular fantheory still abounds.

-- Why is one marked, but the other not? Vi's tattoo has been around for "as long as she can remember," after all, but if Jinx and Vi are sisters, why doesn't Jinx have a visible tattoo similar to Vi's as well?

If No, Jinx and Vi are NOT sisters:

-- Who are their respective sisters, then? Once more that fantheory becomes relevant, and all the more convincing. Or are they someone else--Caitlyn as Vi's sister, for example?

-- Why is Jinx so obsessed with Vi, then? Is it so innocuous as just finding pre-cop Vi more fun? Or is there something else? Why Vi at all? Why not Caitlyn or Jayce?

-- Does Vi's sister have a similar tattoo? Does Jinx's?

-- Why the palette swap between Jinx and Vi? Will their respective sisters share the same idea? Will their respective siblings even be Champions?

As you can see, there's still a lot we can play with, whatever answer you give. By giving a simple "yes" or "no," you do a lot for your image, you restore a bit of faith in your customers and fanbase, and you'd be giving us some tasty bait until you finally turn your attention back to Piltover months or years down the road and reel us back in again. And finally, on a more personal level, I'll be a lot happier with how I write for Vi. So answer my call, Riot. I beg of you.

Where's the harm in just one word? Yes or No: Are Jinx and Vi sisters?

And as promised...

TL;DR: Gettin tired of the runaround re: Jinx and Vi siblingship, just give straight yes or no answer and nothing else plzkthx.

I would also like a solid story. Riot gave us a very solid story with the Frejold arc (imo) but outside of the now dead Journal of Justice, I havent seen anything solid. Just tidbits and eye candy. As awesome as the candy is/was it just DOESNT substitute for a meal

if you're a writer/storyteller - then you should know why they don't say. it's a tease. it's a method to get everyone interested and worked up. get everyone talking about it, get excited.

they've been hinting at a 3rd champion, one they'll probably release next year who will be the 3rd sibling. if they give out the information too soon then they'll have never ending requests for more details. they could tell you. it just doesn't really get them anything and if things change in the development and there are delays there will be more complaints. if they say yes, then it becomes dogma and they can't reserve the right to change their minds later.

as for your earlier comments. i too feel like riot has compromised their storyline a little. the've retconned a good amnt of stuff and i was sad when journal of justice got abandoned. but the way i look at is it this is a work in progress. things don't always look pretty half way through.

FYI: Jinx's in-production name used be "Seven". She was intended to have relation with VI(six) long since the production. But no cofirmation about sisterhood though
