6300 IP to infinity and beyond
Is every new champion release going to cost 6300 ip for the rest of my life?

It's possible they may update their release model, but for now, yes that is how it works. New champions release at 7800 IP and go down to 6300 after the first week, and on release the oldest 6300 drops 1 price tier with an additional 4800 IP or lower dropping every third release.
