The death of every fun video game...

It's always the same.

  1. Great company makes a fun game.
  2. Player feedback goes into decision making, which helps the game get more and more popular since all of the changes are making the game more fun to most players.
  3. Game company gets bought by a larger corporation.
  4. Larger corporation now tells the game designers what to do (instead of the players) in order to make more money.
  5. Player feedback is ignored, and the game slowly dies out as more and more unwanted changes are implemented in order to sell more stuff.

For example: Dynamic Que Riot has studied RP purchases and knows that playing with friends makes players more likely to spend RP. They implement dynamic que to force players to play with teams in order to climb the ladder, which will make them more money. They ignore the large portion of their player base that wants solo que because they think it is more competitive and a more accurate reflection of individual skill. Eventually these players leave, the games competitiveness leaves with them, and the percentage of casual players increases. Nothing wrong with being a casual player obviously, but they are typically not dedicated/attached/frequent players, and are not able to keep the game alive.

Story of Rito Games and every other small gaming company.

Welcome to the wonderful world of greed, which is actually quite popular these days. And, just think, the players enabled companies like that to exist. Even Nintendo, who was long resistant to all of it, gave in to the greed with their new CEO.

Most people will act like there's no issue though, because they get exactly what they want: The ability to pay their way through the game, or to stand out. That's why the word "casual" makes me cringe, since 99.99% of people who call themselves casual are just lazy assholes who can't be bothered to do anything.

So, until people actually stand up for things, and demand quality content (not just the bare minimum, half-assed stuff F2P gives us), gaming will continue to shit. F2P is not a good thing, despite what a lot of people will tell you. F2P will be the death of gaming.

Short answer, greed. But you're spot on, and it's why I've said league has gone downhill ever since they started focusing on esports.

Part of the problem with a company like Riot is that they have so many customers they can't possibly listen to them all. With something like 60 million active players, it's just impossible to gather feedback on that scale and implement changes that won't piss somebody off. So now instead of a playerbase that's largely in agreement you have one that's wildly discordant and has no collective direction. That requires player feedback to generally take a backseat to more quantitative forms of information-gathering.

The worst thing you can give someone is exactly what they ask for.

This might be true, but I'm not sure about a couple of things you said here:

  1. Was Riot bought by a larger company? I have no idea if they were or not.
  2. Does dynamic queue exert a significant pressure on people to play with premade teams? I still go solo in dynamic queue.
  3. Riot has said that dynamic queue was designed to make matchmaking go smoother and decrease the amount of fighting over roles. Does it not do that?

For every decision that Riot makes, there are some players that support the change and others that don't. Riot can't do everything that every player suggests.

It is possible that Riot made these changes to make more money, but that does not necessarily mean Riot is not still making improvements for the sake of players.

it is all about money now. If League goes belly up, another game will come along and replace it. it is the same in the business world. You squeeze what you can out of the orange because more are being made as we speak. It makes perfect sense in economic terms.

This is true.

I feel like Riot is giving us what we want but its just not exactly what people are asking for, but people are never happy and will bitch about literally anything... No matter what change is implemented someone will bitch about it, and a large significant amount of people will follow, but ultimately the amount of people complaining about one topic is no where near the amount not complaining about it. The boards is a small percentage of the community and the boards isnt even unanimous on whether they want Dynamic Queue or Solo Queue, granted majority wants Solo Queue but still.

Your opinion matters but just because its not taken into account does not mean Riot is ignoring the demands of the playerbase, they are choosing the best option in their opinion to fit our demands. You can call them names and accuse them of whatever you want but the bottom line is you guys are just throwing a tantrum because its not what you wanted. BTW Dynamic Queue was SUPPOSE to fix majority of the issues with Solo Queue, it is not working as intended clearly. It is still early on though, its new, there is time to fix these issues you have with it.
