It is ok to play off meta champions ONLY IF YOU ARE GOOD AT THEM

I had to dodge twice over a period of 5 games because of a Lee Sin top and a Ekko support. The reason for this is because a few days ago, we lost the entire game while we had like 15+ kills over the enemy and our Lee Sin top had no impact in team fights. He didn't do bad at laning and farming but the enemy raped our entire team because Lee Sin couldn't do crap against their poke + peel comp. IRRC (Naut, Janna, Nidalee, Caitlyn, Velkoz)

I checked their op.gg and the Lee Sin had a 37% win rate for 30+ games and rarely played him top. The Ekko had a 48% win rate over 29 games and never played him support before and wasn't even duoing with our adc. Like seriously please don't play these champions in those roles in Plat+ and without any premades playing with you.

these people hear from somewhere that these champions are op and make "plays" so they take them into every role rather than actually learning how to play other champions.

one trick ponies basically, except they're garbage at the champion they "main"

Well, how do you feel about hybrid Teemo top / mid? :3

Teemo + item 3153 item 3020 item 3027 item 3151 item 3116 item 3022

Works wonders when I have a team that isn't incompetent and feeding, but it's not "meta" and it's not the standard build for Teemo. :P
