New Ward Idea (at least I've never heard of it before): Long range, narrow vision; The Sentinel Ward

The Sentinel Ward has a very narrow angle cone of vision, but has much a longer sight than Vision and Stealth wards.
Champions that pass through the Sentinel's line of sight are revealed for .5 seconds (not True Sight) so that quickly passing through it doesn't make it near impossible to see what the circle that just blipped on your map was. This also lets the revealed champion know they were just spotted by a Sentinel Ward that's probably farther away than their own vision.
Placed by vector-targeting; à la Viktor's Death Ray and Rumble's Equalizer
Pros:
- Can be used to protect paths without putting your ward in an easily destroyed position.
- Can cover more key areas without having multiple wards in close proximity
Cons:
- Not invisible; once they are spotted, it's not hard to find and kill it.
- Narrow vision means you can walk around it by luck or knowing where it's at.
