This just in. A competitive team in Garena got DISQUALIFIED for bm'ing the enemy team.

It's a match of Mineski-X against DSP.

AFAIK, it's situated at 3:50:42, where Mineski-X's Lee Sin attempted to kill Nami but failed, and then a few seconds later, he disrespectfully wasted his Flash in front of the enemy turret.

Another one would be at 4:04:15, where the team is seriously desperate in giving the Penta, and again, you'd see Lee Sin attempting to flash in for some "Insec play" bullshit & got himself killed.

What happens next? You guessed it. The winning team, Mineski-X, got disqualified for a number of BM attempts.

I dunno about whether LCS/LCK etc. has this kind of policy for disqualifying any team who BMs, but may I suggest that these types of BM to be reportable for public games as well? Especially the "please don't end" attitude like the ending. More context about this can be found here, a thread I've already made months back:

I scrolled through your previous thread and this is also something I've been thinking about for a while since every other post in discussion is about "why was I banned?!" or "Why is this NOT banned?!"

My theory is that the question is: Is LoL a SPORT or a GAME?

If League is a SPORT, then there should be very low tolerance for griefing, trolling, and in general being a poor sport. I think it was right for the winning team in the link you posted to be DQ'ed for BMing the other team. As a professional team, they should be held accountable to the code of conduct AND the sportsman-like attitude that goes with being a professional and should act accordingly. The same goes for Ranked play. As it is a ladder to (hypothetically/hopefully/maybe) reach professional level, Ranked play SHOULD punish those who are unsportsmanlike and otherwise toxic in game. It ruins the validity of the SPORT if it's governing body (aka: Riot Games in this case) overlooks players who "crap on the name of this glorious conquest" or something to that effect. Normals is what feeds into Ranked and people should be punished (but to a lesser extent) there because in normals you're building habits that you'll take into ranked.

If League is a GAME then yes, code of conduct should be followed, but bro there are no stakes here besides pride. I would liken it to a casual pick up game of whatever sport you'd like to choose. Will some people take it way seriously and get pissed at everyone? Yes, but you ignore them. Will some people smack talk you until you want to punch their face in? Of course. So you sh*t talk them back. Will some people suck? Obviously you don't rely on them. Will you lose because everyone else on your team sucks? Yes, but you don't have to shake hands. You just rage at them all and leave/find better players for next time. Will your behavior change if it's your friends and you want to hang out with them later or play with them ever again? Maybe. But otherwise this is what happens when you make a team of total strangers who may or may not be equally skillful in play. Because it's a GAME. You play for fun until it's not fun and then you stop. Ranked is just more competitive fun, and Norms you can trolololol all day long because it's just for fun. If you can convince everyone playing to play hide and go seek in the jungle, it's gonna be a great day.

tl;dr - I personally consider **Ranked **play a SPORT and report all unsportsmanlike conduct at that level. People should know better and I think Riot should have higher punishments for those queing up for Ranked (either that or some kind of reward for GOOD behavior). In **Unranked **I take it as just a GAME. I only care about reporting people if it's just WAY out of hand. Otherwise I just mute and play for fun. Riot should do something about all those bots in ARAM though...

I don't know dude, the guy could have genuinely misclicked in the first clip and the last one was the team trying to get a pentakill. If it's BMing trying to get a pentakill, then how is Karma standing in the fountain acceptable? How is it good with fighting spirit and all that that the Nexus is being killed and she stays in the fountain just to avoid giving up the pentakill?

If anything, the losing team should be punished here, because of what Karma did. Getting a pentakill is a great achievement for a lot of players, maybe some time down the line it will matter in an achievements' thing or something. Maybe even just the amount of kills you get in a game could be worth something. It's like saying that in a football game, a far stronger team shouldn't score more goals if it's already 3-0 by half time, because it's BMing the poor enemy team. No, you can go ahead and score 5, 8, 10 goals if you can. You are the better team and you have the ability to do so, therefore you will do it. In this game, Riven could get a pentakill, the team could get an extra kill and maybe this will matter somewhere.

What Karma did in the end is like when you're already 4-0 by 80' minutes and there is a penalty kick, and the goalkeeper just refuses to stand in front and attempt to block it, which is unacceptable. Sure, it won't change the outcome of the +3 points you get in the end, but it feels unsportsmanlike and degrading the fighting-to-the-end spirit.

So yeah, again, if anyone should be punished here is the Karma for BMing in the form of denying a pentakill, but most importantly for not fighting till the end of the game.

This couldn't be reported in a regular game for a simple reason - context. This team didn't get disqualified for bm'ing, they got disqualified for damaging the integrity of the Garena league a a whole. It happened because the pros are meant to be held up as role-models to the average player.
