Poro Explosion - A Genius Evolutionary Adaptation

Well one day I was wondering why would poros explode into multiple poros when they eat a lot and expand, and suddenly I realized why that was the case. See, the poro only does this when it can obtain a large amount of food to sustain itself.

This evolutionary adaptation would only occur in two scenarios: the poro is able to find an abundance of food in it's environment, or the particular poro is very adept at finding food. In either case, the poro would want to spread it's genes in the most efficient manner possible considering that food is no problem, and what better way than fission?

Each poro produced in this manner likely has the same exact genes as the original, meaning that said poro has drastically increased the chances of passing it's genes down.

Of course, this theory relies on the theory that poros have genders and can mate but choose this option as a more extreme method of passing on their genetics, otherwise this has just been one very useless and technobabble-filled rant.
