Orianna or Thresh?

I'm trying to decide between buying orianna or thresh as i have 5000 ip and am getting close to 6300. I like the idea of Thresh because i think he is the best support in the game if played well. When i tried him in free week i wasnt doing too hot. I think maybe I can learn him since I am good with practically every other support i play? Orianna intrigues me because she seems safe and people keep telling me shes very strong late game. Not to mention the idea of her cc with ult is amazing. Since getting a lot of ip takes 2 years, i want to make this right. What champ do you think I should buy?

Potatoes or Tomatoes? They both are very different things.

But as a general rule I would say Thresh. In the world of supports Thresh has a higher standing than Ori has in the world of Mids.

Which position do you play more often? That would be the one I'd recommend you grab. Also, just mentioning that a 10 minute(bot) game a day gets you ~5000 IP a month :/
