Champion Mastery Needs a Bit More Depth
I really like the way that champion mastery works. From what I could tell, it worked best by the role of the champion you played, so ADC's were supposed to get lots of CS and tanks were supposed to take up lots of damage, but I think it could be build upon in a more personal level.
With the soon additions of champion mastery levels 6 and 7, I propose a new contest.
I got the idea from the Bilgewater Event, in which certain tasks were needed for each player to get the specific icon they wanted. In this concept, each player should need to complete a specific task with that champion before going onto the final level of Champion Mastery. For instance,
could need to use his ultimate over a wall, hit three or more enemies with his ultimate a certain number of times, or just land knockups from a certain distance so many times. This way, you know that you're not only earning points towards that champion, but you're also learning a bit about that champion in the process; truly moving towards "mastery".
This could be applied to lots of champions, and since so many of them have little mini games hidden in-game, it would be interesting to know if Riot had any plans to make Champion Mastery a bit more in-depth.
Other ideas include asking for
players to Riposte a certain number of hard CC abilities,
killing a certain number of champions with her Ultimate,
needing to heal and deal a certain amount of damage,
needing to hit champions with his barrels from a chain of at least two or more, or even
healing a certain very large amount through his passive alone.
This could make it a whole lot more fun to play the champion, as you would need to use a certain aspect of them in order to say that you have mastered them. What do you guys think? Any Rioters think this is something to look at?
