Riot. WHY U NO HAVE FIGURES MADE BY FUNKO?

$25 for a 3.5" tall figure in Riot stores

$7 for a 2.5" MYSTERY BOX (for added fun. I am a mystery box addict) from Funko

I dunno who has $25 to drop on one little figure, especially when Riot is bound to put out more and I am bound to want several of them.

I understand all the points about quality. Quality is good and I like it a lot. But sometimes you have to sacrifice it a little bit to actually make sales. I will not be buying any LoL figures at that price point, no matter how nice they are. It's just not worth it to me.

Seriously, have you seen Funko figures? They're pretty high quality. And better yet, at an attractive $7 a pop, I would want to buy several instead of none.

Rito your fanbase is full of kids and broke college students/ broke recent grads (That's me! :D) We want things too.

I don't want to shoot you down, but when I heard high quality figures, I expected to see the type of figures that look very similar to what they protray.

I now realize I had a very flawed line of reasoning that 7 dollar figures wouldn't look so detailed, but your post led me on to think like that.

I am not condemning your post, you are making a very valid point, mind listing the good qualities about Funko figures (I visited their site and saw those odds figures with enlarged heads and the same beady black eyes, not sure if you were referring to those).

As for Riot's figures, I am not sure why they released these cutesy style ones (Since they never hinted at this art style before in their game or art), but the champion selection and art style do not make these figures very enticing (At least for me).

I guess I'm not really a "collector" so much as a person who likes toys. I want to pay toy prices, not collector prices, and that's a personal opinion and not something Riot's doing wrong.

I have one really nice Sleich dinosaur that was bought for me as a gift at $25. It's larger and well-detailed, not some chibi mug-sized thing. And yes, there's a lot of detail on these, but it just doesn't FEEL the same when it's chibi. IMO the art style cheapens it. The lack of texture really hurts that.

The good things about Funko figures are mainly the quality compared to the price point. The price isn't wallet-crippling, and the quality is decent (but mind you, you are still getting what you're paying for.) They make a lot of toys with that similar chibi style, but also larger and more realistic figures. Not all Funkos have beady eyes, just some of them. They could easily be produced with eyes more like Riot's figures. Funko figures also run in series, so there would be more, and can come in mystery boxes (which I personally find really fun).

Cute is great. I think Leona is freaking precious and if her price were more in my budget she'd be in my cart already. It's common for companies to put out cute versions of their characters (FUNKO DOES THIS LITERALLY ALL THE TIME. There are cutesy Funko American Horror Story figures. Not even kidding.) so it doesn't bother me.

I know this is a really late reply but I have to weigh in. You make valid points but as you said, these are not at toy prices, that's simply because they aren't toys. Funko makes cheap vinyl collectibles and that is their niche. They are low in quality. If you collect figures you would understand that the pricing for these is on level with other figures and statues. They have weight and are definately high quality. Very detailed But fragile. These aren't cheap toys you can have lying around. They are meant to be taken care of and displayed. I've collected Funko products. They have POP figures that are $10 standard, the quality and feel of the product reflects the price. I don't think riot has accurately represented their own figures. These are not in the same league as Funko and vinyl products.
