An ally has been slain...
Are you tired of hearing this message within the first 1:55 seconds of the game? Tired of knowning someone on your team is probably going to screw up and die to that blitzcrank hook from the fog of war with a blind grab? Confused at how to have vision to ensure the enemy team doesnt screw over your jungler without risking your own life by standing in a bush? Do you just want to sit in lane to try and cheese your lane opponent but your jungler is pestering your to protect your teams jungle?
Well I believe I have the solution for you!
Attached I have a list of 2 maps showing where to place wards (if you really think wolves are important enough to cover then regard map 2 not map 1) Red arrows show where laners will place wards. Blue shows where the jungler can then place wards to protect against invades.
Pros:
- Unless the enemy flashes over walls to invade your jungle the only part of your jungle that is not secured by vision is wolves.
- if you ward at 0:55-1:00 your jungle vision lasts long enough to secure no invades are happening, and if they are your jungler is aware of this and can invade the enemy jungle accordingly or escape with his life.
- Wards give 10g if killed instead of you giving 400 gold + assist gold
- Not having that ward those first 2 mins of lane makes it a great reminder that you should ward when your trinket comes back up. Yay for map awareness.
- Top bot and mid lane can all be where ever they want since wards are doing the vision control
- The jungler can now use his ward to protect himself by warding the bush at red or at the cross roads at blue if the enemy jungler attempts a late invade when your jungler is at their red and blue, drastically increasing their chance at surviving the gank
- You are starting the game out right by having half of the map already warded by 1:00 into the game, better to start early then later. *8. The support or adc will still have their trinket up (if regarding map 1)
- Each and every place marked can be warded from several angles safely over a wall
Cons:
-
Your team doesnt have wards up until 3:00. Which is about the time most junglers are done with their first 3 camps and are looking to either gank or go back to base.
-
some teams really just want to see your jungler die and will wait until 1:55 to invade the jungle. however its pretty obvious at this point when no enemies are in lanes that there is something going on in that fog of war.
Regardless of your team position this is a win win situation for a team that doesn't want to invade. Your jungler is safe, no flashes have the possibility of being burned, you have the chance to turn an invade around by surprising your enemy(instead of being surprised), the enemy team doesn't get a free kill, and your jungler avoids getting counter jungled by reciprocating an attempted invade gank.
This is a team game, start using your trinkets like they are free... (well because they are and you should feel bad for not letting the little guys do their jobs)
Pro tip for junglers: if you start at krugs, if you place yourself right next to the wall, it is possible to ward into the red bush.
TL:DR start using those wards instead of your bodies to protect your jungle. Use a ward, stop a gank, save a life
