Shen Rework less then optimal

I like the changes they have made with Shen besides one thing his W. His W lacks many things, like the ability to be useful and protect allies etc... Removing his old W to being a passive makes it harder to shield, poke damage and making what would have been a nasty hit go away to now a much harder challenge of getting the "Spirit Blade" in a good position and still be close enough to allow you time to shield the on coming damage (it makes you forced to ether play defensive and have little offense or position great but no defense). The W doesn't last long enough to block all but one to two auto attacks which early game is all but nothing, late game could be the difference between life and death but highly unlikely to be any more of use. The most it seems useful for is playing against a Nasus who is about to hit you or someone (within your "spirit swords" range) with his Q. I would like one of two options 1. If the W worked like an area shield where while inside it gives a set number of shield that can be broken and if you leave the well then it goes away. 2. People inside the well would be given MR and Armor based ether off of health, AP, MR, armor, or just a set number, based on lvl (of the W). Lastly I would add More time to his W so it would last anywhere from 2.5 seconds all the way up to 4 seconds. Shen's passive doesn't make up for the amount of protection Shen needs seeing how he has no range no help to fend off ranged champs via poke or by other means. For instance Darius is all melee but he can sustain (via life steal) and if you get too close you most times cant get away. If Shen engages with his E all one must do is flash, stun, root, etc... and then Shen is free farm, you can't slow, stun, root, or have any other means of catching said person. If you fix his W that will at least make it so he can stay alive in lane and be more useful in a team fight besides ult, E and add to the number of targets one has to shoot at. Now at the beginning I said I like the changes to Shen but now it might seem that I don't but let me tell you what I do like. I like his new look, I like his Q and how it adds a little more fun to playing Shen, I like his passive and how it mixes with his other abilities, and I like that they kept his old E and ult. I don't like that Shen has lost part of him being a tank just to be more colorful and interesting.

This is all my opinion from what I have experienced so far. Shen may need to be played in a way I don't yet understand and instead of changing him I need to change my way of thinking. For now though I have yet to find him nearly as useful as before or playable for that matter. Old Shen needed a team to work but now without one you might as well afk at your tower till something happens in which you can E or ult. If you think otherwise I would love to hear it but please none of the usual form chat where nothing logical is brought up and everyone reverts to childish behavior of trolling and calling names. If you totally disagree with me please tell me how and if you know of a way Shen's W is useful more then a single auto attack blocker, I would love to know. Thanks for reading and I can't wait to see how you guys take this.
