Here's a conundrum: What if you play better by being toxic?

You'll probably say "that's statistically impossible", but humor me. What if you had a player who SOMEHOW plays much better when driven insane levels of hate for the opposition?

Probably still kick him out even if he was #1 in the world?

Definitely still kick them out or ban them. Look at esports rulings on professional player behavior. While there are some instances of them appearing to be toxic in soloqueue or what not and not being punished, there are also plenty of examples of professional players being fined or even banned from competitive play entirely.

I think the more interesting portion of this is, what if the player didn't behave toxic in games, but was. For example, they don't bm in chat, they don't rage or flame or any of that in chat or in lobbies, but they play for the sole purpose of dumpstering people and wanting to make them look bad. They practice mechanics to outplay people and make them look stupid. They work on game knowledge etc etc and while these are all good things initially, the intent behind them being the best isn't for personal achievement, it isn't for fun, it is purely and solely because they want to humiliate, embarrass, and demean their opponents by stomping them. Essentially if you took the idea of higher elo players making smurfs to stomp low levels and put it in the professional scene but ensured that there wasn't any verbal toxicity, how would that be interpreted?

Toxicity isn't being mad at the opposition. Toxicity is being mad at your own team, and thus degrading the performance of everyone around you. You could say that you were burning into your teammates, because you were volatile and unstable and... 'toxic.'

I really don't think it'd matter if they were #1 in the world. If they were a jerk and purposely was rude and terrible to people, I don't think they should be allowed to play.

Riot holds themselves to a pretty awesome moral standard. They know right from wrong and I feel like they tend to be good at enforcing the rules they've set in place. If someone like that was the best in the world, Riot would have a certain expectation on how to carry themselves both in and out of the game.
