Automatic In-Game Named Change

So, around 5 years ago, I began to play league. I made multiple accounts just for the heck of it. In total i may have had three or four, and i played on all of them regularly. Being that i wanted to get my friends and close family into the game, I decided to give them the accounts I would no longer be using. After 5 years of playing, faithfully, my cousin had his in-game name changed about an hour before this posting. No warning, no notification, nothing. His in-game name was Thatliln3groguy. Being that I am a black guy of quite diminutive stature, I found the name quite fitting at the time of it's inception. My question to Riot is, why, (after five years) did you decide to automatically change his summoner name. If you claim it was offensive, I believe you should have at least caught on within the last five years of playing. Have you fallen so deep into the abyss of abhorrent political correctness, that you have to make rash decisions on something as trivial as a name change, without giving a "customer" fair notice?

Being that he's dropped hundreds of dollars into this F2P game, I believe you owe him a direct message, at the very least. Changing his name to "Describe Thence", which could quite possibly be the worst summoner name of all time, is quite low...

Help a n3gro out, Rito. Pls.

there's so many players that riot probably changes a name only when reported, or maybe if it's been reported so many times.

and they might not be able to take personable action for every instance either. but if you submit a support ticket you should get a responce, I don't know how to do it tho, I think it's on this site somewhere, maybe at the top? its not a forum feature tho so you might have to Google search for riot support ticket or something. or maybe another player on the forum will kindly drop by and give you a link :D

This isn't the first name change post I've seen recently so my guess is the expanded the list of banned names.

I donno why notice would be necessary or what it would even accomplish. If they were punishing people for previously "acceptable" names that are no longer allowed then they should give notice. But all they did is change the names.

You should also know that account sharing is, or giving someone your account as the case may be, is not allowed.

That's assuming they don't ban it now for account sharing.

It's partly a security issue. I'm not entirely sure if they'll look that far back, but in the event of a stolen or hacked account, I've heard they look very close at the account and some of the questions they'll ask are about its earliest details.
