Is it possible to be reported for this?

I finished a ranked game today with less farm than normal. I was playing as Jinx and my support, a Braum, was extremely difficult to deal with.

During champ select, I politely suggested he take exhaust rather than heal since I already had it. Immediately he was very rude to me, calling me nasty names as well as being extremely disrespectful to our Evelynn when she tried to defend me and tell him to calm down. Once we got into game, a few more nasty words were said from Braum and then he went completely silent for the rest of the game.

Now here's my question: As a result of this Braum's attitude, he (for some reason) felt I should be punished just for asking him to take exhaust. During the game he did his very best to purposely take CS from me (note: he had started Ancient Coin and not Relic Shield). This put me pretty far behind until we got to about mid-game and really screwed up my early game routine. At the end of the game I reported him under a 'Negative Attitude' because I included that he was swearing up a storm and getting angry at Evelynn and I in addition to then staying silent and refusing to listen when I politely asked him to stop last hitting. Was that the right category to report under? Can he even be punished for this? In all reality if this were a normal game I'd probably be just a bit annoyed, but I'd let it slide. But I've been having some bad luck with ranked games lately and it's just disappointing to be matched with players like this.

He was acting inappropriate for the game so your report is perfectly valid. I personally might have reported him even if it was a normal game because I don't find that sort of attitude acceptable.

The only thing you might have to consider are your words you said to him before the game. Sometimes when we talk through text, we add our own vocal inflections to our words and to us they sound different. The problem is that text doesn't carry that across so the person reading it, is usually reading it from their own mood or frame of mind.

So if you said something like: "Braum we don't need heal, take exhaust"

To you it might sound like: "Braum please take exhaust"

To Braum it might have sounded like: "Don't fucking take heal!"

Personally I find that suggesting things people should do in the future and leaving out actions they shouldn't have done because they were mistakes usually leave little room for misinterpretation. But even then sometimes people are in such bad moods that anything you say to them will set them off.
